Chapter 1, 1/3
The three has been given an opportunity to turn their lives around by being offered a position at the D.O.D, but with the cost of facing a seemingly moody interviewer first. Will they get satisfy the interviewer and get a reaction out of him, or will they completely throw their opportunity away by a single stutter?

Jon, Adri, and Jordan went to the Department Of Demonology (D.O.D) to get interviewed. The three had been sitting in the waiting room of the D.O.D, which is a surprisingly official-looking building owned by the government.
Jon nervously kept checking his phone, he glanced between the receptionist at the front desk and his phone. On the other hand, Adriana was currently reading a book about paranormal beings to have a clear image of what they were getting themselves into, while Jordan was smoking outside for the third time, right next to the entrance even though the receptionist had already reminded him twice to not smoke there.
"Ah, sorry, ma'am." Jordan replied to the receptionist in a polite tone, but deep down he was annoyed at her constant reminders. He eventually stopped smoking and found a better spot to smoke.
"Tch.. tch.. tch, Classic Jordan," Jon mutters to himself amusedly.
"Hey, Jon. Do you think, uhm, skinwalkers can turn into humans too? I mean they can turn into animals and shit, but what about humans?" Adriana asks, looking up at Jon before focusing back on the book. Before Jon could respond to Adriana, an interviewer called him.
Jon entered the room and sat across the interviewer—a middle-aged man, around his thirties. He looked at Jon up and down, silently judging his attire and overall first impression. Jon noticed that the interviewer’s name was “John” from the desk wedge. Ironic. Jon thought.
"Jonathan Vulkan Pines..?" The interviewer asked with a raised eyebrow and skeptical gaze.
Jon nodded nervously before readjusting his glasses. “..Yes, sir.” He answered, swallowing his own saliva.
John adjusted his position in the seat and crossed his legs before asking: “Tell me about yourself.” with the most expectant and judgmental expression in the entire world. And, of course, Jon noticed it and wanted to melt into his seat right there.
“Uhm, I am skilled at computer programming. Whenever there’s an issue with my team’s laptop, I’ll fix it in just a couple minutes–depending on the type of issue, of course,” Jon started, “Not only I specialize in, uh, computers, I also lead my team into new journeys and take care of them.” he ended.
John had to stop himself from sighing out loud, instead he pinched his nosebridge before writing Jon’s answer shortly before looking back up at him. “What pushed you to become a demonologist?” John asked.
This is it. The answer that’ll change everything for me and my friends. Jon thought before straightening up and clearing his throat, “It all started with my old cat. I was enjoying the day until she got possessed by some paranormal thing and I lost her since whatever was inside her... Led her to her death.” he explained, avoiding John’s gaze before meeting it again with dedication.
