December 18th, 2025: Double congratulations are in order for a double erikae! Fukuyū (ふく侑) and Fukunagi (ふく凪) of Shigemori (しげ森) in Miyagawa Cho are celebrating their change from maiko to geiko! Both were the most senior maiko in their district with over five years of experience and are standouts for their popularity. Both Fukuyū and Fukunagi look absolutely stunning and double erikae, especially from the same okiya, remain quite rare, so it's a very joyous time for Kyoto! Fukuyū's outfit features butterflies over blue waves while Fukunagi's outfit features fans and pine with golden haze. Both women are wearing golden karabana obi ^^ おめでとうさんどすふく侑さんとふく凪さん ^o^! April 7th, 2020: Another happy day in Kyoto! Today we saw the birth of a new geiko in Kamishichiken, Umehina (梅ひな) of Umeno (梅乃), who is the first maiko to turn her collar from that okiya in 17 years! Over in Miyagawa Cho we witnessed two new girls enter the profession, Fukunagi (ふく凪) and Fukumomo (ふく百) of Shigemori, who had a double misedashi! All three women wore their finest kuromontsuki and had excellent weather to walk among the cherry blossoms ^^ おめでとうさんどす梅ひなさん、ふく凪ちゃん、とふく百ちゃん ^o^! February 18th, 2020: Two new minarai have debuted from Shigemori (しげ森) okiya in Miyagawa Cho! Their geimei are Fukumomo (ふく百) and Fukunagi (ふく凪) and are the imōto of Fukuhiro (ふく紘). Their misedashi will be in March ^^ Images are courtesy of Tomoko of Maiko Theatre.
