                 AN UNCOMMON SIGHT : johanna awake before him. but there she sits at their kitchen table, lights dim & eyes staring at her cup of dark coffee. her eyebrows are FURROWED, & there’s a definite FROWN on her face. mornings are not her thing, & this one ? she looks at mace when he enters, her frown deepening.

                 fucking harvey. she doesn’t even WANT to look at him & how he’s able to show them all up with an easy smile. johanna’s pull ups suck ; already done with them & she tries to wind down with stretches, watching as the coats check her heart-rate & other vitals out of the corner of her eye. they want her to take a moment for a psychological overview, before her runs & other tests, to sit with some head doctor & try to see if she can really HANDLE THE MISSION they’ve all been picked for. she’s been UP THERE before. she can deal with fucking space. she can make her oxygen gardens & keep them all alive. but god forbid that’s a good enough fucking answer for fucking NASA.

                 looking back up to mace, watching the next pull up, & his next as he strains. muscles pull & sweat pools from him, until she makes herself look away. AWKWARD STARING when someone is working out is never good. crossing her arm she scoffs, hitting a knee up into his dangling feet & telling the officials to give her ten fucking minutes to get her heart-rate down.   (   or to find AN ESCAPE POD from their fucking desk of torturous questions, but hey. semantics.   )
