currently trying to decide if I hate myself enough to go through v3 and collect all of the supplemental text the characters say when you talk to them in the freetime slots of the main game

I liked how Tenkoās FTEs did not focus on getting over her dislike for āMalesā at all.
The first FTE begins with Saihra immediately regretting his decision on approaching Tenko. Tenko is taking a defensive position while growling and screaming. Saihara completely ignores them causing Tenko to question him.She tells Saihara that he is a male, so therefore must have approached her since she gets in the way of Saihara from getting close to the other girls. She continues to talk about how āmalesā are evil. She has a tendency to do this often where she end being unable to stop her thought process and so Saihara tries to tell her to calm down. Tenko then thinks that Saihara is about to touch and so she defends herself by throwing himā¦multiple times until Saihara falls unconscious.
Saihara awakes later in his room, laying on his bed and assumes that Tenko must have carried him here.
The second FTE begins with Tenkoā¦kinda apologizing, but blaming the turn of events on the fact that Saihara is āMaleā Tenko indeed did carry Saihara to his room, stating that she couldnāt just leave him lying on the floor like that.
Tenko then says that Saihara does have some guts for going out of his way to talk to someone who just threw him around until he literally passed out. She goes off again in her thoughts and makes the claim that Saihara must be a masochist and that makes him a difficult opponent. Saihara immediately defends himself. (funny thing is this Saihara is a masochist joke does come up during chapter 4 lol)
When Saihara tells Tenko to calm down again, she states that she is always calm because her parents had sent her to the temple to train. She talks about how thanks to that training, she is now able to have conversations with others. (apparently her tendencies to keep speaking her own thought processes was worse that people she talked to her couldnāt keep up with her conversations.) Tenko believes that she no longer does that⦠but she still does indeed⦠Apparently it was at the temple she trained under her master and together they created the Neo-Aikido.
The third FTE the conversation starts with Tenko saying that she can tell that Saihara has grown interested in Neo-Aikido. She tells Saihara the main philosophy of Neo-Aikido, that simply training wonāt help you learn, and that the only way to truely learn is experiencing it, even if it is just visualizing situations. Saihara does seem to agree with the philosophy after Tenko explains it. (he is surprised that Tenko is saying something that actually makes sense though)
Tenko then reveals that she and her Master, as a part of Neo-Aikidoās training, were āHeroes of Justiceā (oh noā¦) They wore masks and helped people during their daily lives. Tenko talks about some of the things they have done; helping old ladies carry bags, assisting children to cross streets, catching shoplifters, and beating up āmalesā that cheated on their girlfriends - then helping those girls recover from the betrayal, sometimes teaching them Neo-Aikido so they can seek revenge. (Saihara states that the last one isnāt very āHero of Justiceā like of a job.)
During the fourth FTE Tenko tells Saihara of Neo-Aikidoās weaknessā¦During Christmas and Valentines, if you become too full of yourself you become weaker. And that is only because āher Master had said soā. Tenko then says in her own case, if a male touches her or if she eats more than 3 sweets a day she becomes weaker.
Saihara comments that Tenko believes in peopleās words, her Masterās words without questioning the logic behind it. And starts to wonder if her trust in others was the reason she has come to hate guys.
Tenko then warns Saihara that he cannot touch her at all cause thatāll weaken her skills in Neo-Aikido. She tells Saihara that if he wishes to learn Neo-Aikido, he must be prepared to carry the burden of a weakness.
Saihara asks if Tenkoās Master was a guy, (he assumes this because the Master would have probably been a monk at the temple) and wouldnāt if be a problem if he were to touch her during their sparing. Tenkoās face slowly goes blank until she suddenly screams in shock at the realization that her Master was a āmaleā too.
Tenkoās last FTE begins with Saihara asking if she was alright after the reveal that her Master was a āmaleā she hated. Her response is normalā¦for Tenko. Still making comments on how terrible Males are and such.Tenko then thanks Saihara suddenly to his surprise. She states that Saihara literally flipped her world upside down with the fact that her Master was a āmaleā and so she realizes that there are good āmalesā like her master in the world after all. And to her dismay, she begins to think that Saihara too is a good person as well. Tenko firmly tells Saihara that this does not mean she sees him as a special person (in a romantic sense) at all. She just says that even after talking with Saihara her Neo-Aikido skills donāt become weaker - therefore Saihara isnāt an evil āMaleā Tenko confirms within herself that āmalesā that take up Neo-Aikido grow to becoming āgoodā
She tells Saihara that despite him being a āmaleā sheāll consider him a good person for he is a practicioner of Neo-Aikido as well (she just thinks Saihara is doing Neo-Aikido even though he is not :00)
She then suddenly screams saying she was thinking of shaking hands with him but that is still impossible. She then tells Saihara that the only solution is doing Neo-Aikido and forces him to spar with her.
In conclusion, Saihara has indeed grown closer to understand Tenko, but she still has her hatred for āMalesā and only sees Saihara slightly differently than the others.
Tenko is a character that goes off in making assumptions about situations alot, so most of the conversations end up with her talking non-stop about things in a domino effect?
Like Saihara is a male - therefore he looks at women in a sexual way - thatās why he would talk to Tenko because she gets in his way from talking to the other women - so Tenko must keep her guard up - because Saihara is a āMale" who are all evil.
Most of her conversations follow her going on like that and not giving Saihara any time to defend himself. aish.
