THE DREADED EX.
Bells & Trey got together when they were in high school. He was your typical pretty boy popular jock and a fair amount of his friends would question why he got with the rebellious kinsman daughter. They’d met at a function their families were attending, got drunk on the stairwell after sneaking away. Bells fell pretty quickly for them and despite them being fairly different, they seemed like a picture perfect couple.
He wasn’t entirely fond when she started the band, but she didn’t care. It’s what she wanted to do. While he never expressed disapproval about the band in general, he did try and control the amount of time she spent with her band mates, writing songs and just practising in general. He didn’t ever believe they’d actually take off.
Yet when they left high school and the band started getting attention, he started to get more annoyed. Bells put more time into the band, and less time with Trey. They got into a fair amount of arguments about it that she tried to hide from the others. She felt guilty, she loved him, but she loved the band. She thought they were both her future, but was struggling to balance them.
It was when she went to surprise him one night at his apartment, that she found out he’d been cheating on her. They got into an argument, Trey telling her it was her fault because she barely paid him attention anymore, but that he loved her and all she had to do was choose him instead of the band, and quit. After pretty much launching her heels at him, she’d stormed out of his apartment, crying and shoeless -- ringing one of her band mates to pick her up.
After that, she locked herself in her room for a week, writing angry songs that helped them actually take off and became their EP. She’s banned her bandmates from ever mentioning his name, and no one is allowed to call her Izzy, either, as that was a nickname he, and he alone, used for her when they were dating.
It fractured her trust completely, and she tends to stay away from relationships. Occasionally fake dating for publicity but never actually developing anything real. If there’s any sign of feelings with someone she’s seeing, she’ll cut it off.
