“Have you considered the fact that maybe you shouldn’t do that?” Ky asked where she was leaning against the building. Pyro turned their head to glare at her over their shoulder, their new lighter hovering just above the fuse.
“I have,” Pyro replied, straight faced. Ky rolled her eyes, turning her head and pressed the tip of her finger to her comms unit.
“You tell Pyro not to blow up the park because I got shit on my end,” Ky told Logan. Logan snorted.
“I can’t help you,” Logan told her shortly. Ky lowered her hand and lifted the opposite one, placing her cigar between her lips. Pyro smiled to themselves, flicking the lighter again, the blow torch style light making quick work of lighting up the fuse.
Ky lowered the cigar (which Pyro was 85% sure Ky had repacked with weed), watching the fuse fizzle out towards the explosives at the center of the park. Pyro stepped back and swiped the pack of Newports from Ky’s pocket, picking one out to light it. They had a couple of minutes before the fuse burned down and the sun was setting for a picture perfect explosion.
“It’s more fire than kaboom,” Pyro said, their cigarette hanging from between their dark lips. “If that’s any consolation.”
“It’s not,” Ky sighed, but she pulled her camera from her bag anyway. Pyro stood in front of her, back to her but their cigarette between their fingers at their side. It burned low and slow, orange in front of the pink and orange sky. The fuse was ticking down to the final seconds.
“Say cheese,” Ky said behind her camera. Pyro turned their head, the camera catching their profile as a burst of flame lit up the city skyline.
The picture was up on Ky’s instagram three days later, the same day The Know and Los Santos Press printed stories about it.
