Folks drawn to Fruition for its unique mix of Americanan elements might be disappointed with âOh Well.â
For while the lead single from Something More is not a Fleetwood Mac cover, it is nevertheless relatively unoriginal as Jay Cobb Anderson sings like the love child of Bob Dylan and Tom Petty, the band plays like the country-era Byrds and trades its glorious harmonies for a gang of singers fairly shouting the title.
But Frution retains its humor as Anderson sings:
Once I had it figured out/once I had it all/money, weed and women/pills and alcohol/I took my time to waste it/I was wasted, young and pale/passed out in the bathroom at the bottom of oh well
Frution called Something More a ânew chapterâ in the bandâs evolution. âOh Wellâ suggests the old chapter was more alluring.
