Snippet 1: Theatre AU

Okay, so as a college student I decided to take a theatre class

Unfortunately it’s not an acting class, more like theatre history and how the process is today

On the bright side, we had a lecture on the different roles which rekindled the spark for an au idea me and my sister came up with (meaning some roles will be the roles we initially agreed on, while others will be changed accordingly)

Let’s get started, shall we?

The main student characters will be the actors on stage, however the rest of the dorm members (mobs and such) will take over the other departments. This also means that the main characters will have been a part of those departments before starting their theatre acting career.

Heartslabyul are responsible for the house, acting as ushers to preside over the lobby and seating areas, as well as the guests who come during shows. They also make sure to scan the guests’ tickets. In some cases, however, if not as many ushers are needed, or extra hands are needed for set design, some will join Paint Crew and help with painting the sets. Riddle Rosehearts used to be the House Manager before becoming an actor. Now his main focus is the acting portion of Night Raven Theatre productions, however sometimes he can be seen nagging the current House Manager and listing all the rules of how to handle the house management.

Savanaclaw are largely part of Construction Crew, often building the sets themselves, and (begrudgingly) working with some of the Heartslabyul Paint Crew to put it all together. From building exteriors and interiors to platforms and other props that must be constructed, Savanaclaw has it covered. Many of them do woodwork and heavy lifting, but some of them do have enough work ethic and/or patience to pay attention to smaller details. Leona Kingscholar used to be the Set Designer, believe it or not, knowing just what to choose for certain productions. However, after becoming an actor, he only sometimes gives input, and only when he’s pestered into it.

Octavinelle primarily deals in business management, keeping track of the budgets for the different productions, ticket sales, and wages for the theatre workers. The money handlers, if you will. Azul used to be in charge of budget, as well as having a hand in business management. He’d set the budget to go off of for the large productions. Nowadays though… actually he still does budgeting, he just doesn’t deal in the business management part anymore. In any case, he always obsessively makes sure to be presentable for auditions and rehearsals afterwards.

Scarabia is mostly in charge of marketing, designing the pamphlets, posters, tickets, billboards, magazine ads, and sometimes short commercials. They also collectively monitor and post on Night Raven Theater’s official social media accounts. Kalim and Jamil used to work hand in hand with marketing, with Jamil dealing with the technical side of marketing while Kalim dealt with visuals. At some point, Kalim moved on to acting, but Jamil remained in marketing. Eventually, Jamil got the chance to transfer to the acting scene, and hopes to get his big break one day, competing against Kalim for parts in the theater’s official productions (even though Kalim’s family has quite a few industry connections).

Pomefiore, to absolutely no one’s surprise, specializes in hair, makeup, and costuming. They plan the different designs for different characters in official productions, and Vil’s designs were always approved by Director Crowley and Costume Director Crewel. Vil used to be the Hair and Makeup Director, while being the Assistant Costume Director to Crewel, but decided to get back into the stage acting scene after a break he took during his early teen years. Every once in a while, though, Vil still helps his costars with hair, makeup, and costume adjustments.

Ignihyde, as one could infer, has an affinity for lighting and sound design. Light colors, positions, dimming and brightening are all within the lighting crew’s jurisdiction, previously led by Ortho. Meanwhile, troubleshooting with stage mics, music, sound effects, and backtracking for musical numbers is all taken care of by sound crew, led by Idia Shroud himself, who also occasionally helps make and/or fix stunt equipment. Idia and Ortho were totally content working light and sound, but one day, production was short an understudy, and no one else offered to audition so Crowley convinced Idia to take the place of understudy for a secondary role. Somehow he did pretty well and has been dragged into auditions since (poor guy lol).

Diasomnia are pretty well rounded and many of them act as helping hands for other crews, but mainly they work as stage crew, switching up props on stage, moving curtains, giving cues backstage, the works. Some, however, do end up being ensemble, and in fact more Diasomnia crew members are in ensemble than any other crews. Malleus used to be head of stage crew, but decided to audition for an October production one day and got the part. He’s been showing up to auditions and absolutely nailing his roles since (assuming Crowley remembers to send him the emails with audition info).

Together, Riddle, Leona, Azul, Jamil, Vil, Idia, and Malleus are known as The Elites, regarded by everyone as masters of their craft. They are well respected by costars, backstage workers, and audience members alike.

At least, this is all the information you’ve been told as Night Raven Theatre’s newcomer, getting straight into ensemble and background roles as an up and coming stage actor.

There’s also a variety of pea called “sugar daddy”

Diluc has really thick hair that frizzes in heat and/or humidity, which is part of the reason why he always wears his hair in a ponytail

Aether and Lumine use he/they and she/they pronouns respectively, and only slightly identify with masculinity/femininity

Venti gets along well with the kids in Mondstadt, and makes sure to keep them out of trouble in the subtlest of ways without seeming like a buzzkill

Sucrose owns a few plants. One in particular is a sweetflower that she bio-alchemically modified to withstand cold temperatures and little sunlight. His name is Markus and he is her baby.

Albedo is multilingual. If we’re using real world languages here, I think he’d speak multiple north European languages (such as Finnish and Icelandic) and probably devotes a solid amount of time to studying Latin. If we’re taking the canon Teyvat and assuming each region has its native language, however, then he can speak the languages of Mondstadt, Fontaine, Khaenri’ah, and possibly is studying the native language of Sumeru.

Kaeya likes his water with a lot of ice (or just really cold). He generally feels the same way with all other cold drinks (based). The type to drink super cold drinks even in winter just because he feels like it.
