“How did you feel about Storybrooke when you first got here?” Emma asked the other blonde, looking across the table at her. Elsa snickered, leaning her head on her hand. Elsa made her so nervous she asked stupid questions. “I don’t think it would take a genius to know what my response will be, Swan, I sort of trapped the whole town in with a giant ice wall.” It had been a while since that all happened, since Emma helped Elsa finally find Anna. When they finally found the door back to Arendelle, Anna and Kristoff stepped through with no hesitation, but Elsa stayed behind. There was something keeping her from leaving Storybrooke, or perhaps someone. “I was scared, confused. A lot of emotions were going through me.”

“No, I obviously knew that. Sorry, let me rephrase the question. After everything went down, you stayed here, you said you wanted to explore the town more but when we were looking for Anna we left no stone unturned. You saw everything Storybrooke had to offer, I guess my question was, why did you stay?” When Emma finished rephrasing her question she looked back up at Elsa, who was smiling back at her. “That is almost a completely different question, Emma.” Elsa said, smiling and looking out the window. It was a different question, it was also a very complicated question. A question that Elsa didn’t want to answer, a question she was afraid to answer.

“Well are you going to complain about my question or are you going to answer it?” Emma asked, tilting her head as she tried to figure out what Elsa was looking at outside. “I guess I’ll answer it.” Elsa responded, her voice quiet, almost in a whisper. Emma waited, staring at the other woman. Elsa turned back to Emma, taking her eyes off the window, “When we found the door back to Arendelle, I watched my sister go through and I almost went through too. But then I turned around and I looked at you Emma, I looked at you and I realized you were the only person I had ever clicked with like that.” The two blondes made eye contact, but one stayed silent and the other kept talking. “I knew if I walked through that door, to my world I might never see you again. I didn’t want to risk never seeing my only friend ever again, Emma.”

Emma felt her heart sting when Elsa called her a friend, the two girls had a bond quite like no other, they were closer than friends, something more special than that. “I think you’re the only person in my life right now like Emma, the only person I think completely and utterly understands me. I could come to you with the biggest most confusing problem and you’d help me solve it. Anna could help me but she never understood as much as I did, I think you understand me as much as I understand myself.” 

Elsa looked over at Emma, biting her lip slightly. “I Like you a lot Emma, a lot more than I’ve liked anybody else.” Just as Elsa was trying to get her feelings out, Emma reached over the table and grabbed the woman's cheek in her hand, pulling her face forward and having their lips meet. The two kissed, lips against one another's. When they both leant back to where they were sitting, the two didn’t say anything for a while, they only stared at each other. “I asked a simple question, I didn’t ask for a love confession.” Emma snickered, smiling at the other woman. “If you wanted a shorter answer, Swan, I guess I stayed for you.” Elsa said, smiling at Emma.
