(Sorry this is a lot of questions no pressure to answer)
I love the idea! How does Dusk react to Link? How long did the Yoga have him before they decided he was useless? What does he think of Hyrule, especially the settlements? Does the dark magic affect how he interacts with people?
Ooooh don’t apologize, I haven’t gotten to talk about this much and like I said, it’s been in my brain for years, i very much welcome an excuse to blab about it :D
First thing you should know about Dusk is that he’s a bit like Link when he first came out of the shrine. He has essentially no knowledge of anything, is on the sickly side of things, and (as far as the Yiga know) no useful abilities. The Yiga tell him what he is (a worthless clone), and how he’s meant to destroy the Hero, but for some reason that doesn’t feel quite... right, to Dusk.
Anyways his reaction to Link is basically like “you’re Link? I’m Link too! :D” and he kinda imprints on him like a baby bird. Link for his part feels this weird connection with Dusk, and Zelda sort of does as well and they’re both trying to figure out how on earth the Yiga made this guy and what they’re going to do with him??? It’s fun.
The Yiga only had Dusk for a few weeks before deciding he was useless. They’re not exactly patient, and the moment they realize the clone they made isn’t a super-soldier with a killer’s instinct, they basically declare him a lost cause. ‘Course they change their minds later when they realize Zelda’s magic got mixed up in him, but that’s not for a while.
Dusk thinks everywhere they go is fascinating, and loves traveling even though it wears him out. His favorite place is Hateno (...Link’s house), but there’s something about the Lost Woods... he also likes Lurelin, it’s nice and quiet.
The malice in him doesn’t often show itself, (Zelda helps with that), so it doesn’t really affect how he interacts with people. There is something a bit unsettling about him to the average hylian, but that might just be the red eyes though.
