The woman felt her heart drop at these words. What kind of parent would abandon their own child in the middle of the woods? And on top of that in an area that was known for its grizzly population? Rachel felt a burning rage rising inside her, but for Frost's sake, she decided not to let her emotions get the better of her. Instead, she just shook her head and knelt beside the child. Her grey eyes searched the body for wounds. At first glance, the child seemed fine, just some tiny grazes on the knees and a few bruises here and there, nothing too serious. However, Rachel did not want to imagine how deep the wounds on the poor girl's fragile little soul must be.
