A generational curse is the negative coping skills we teach to our children and grandchildren; like shushing infants so they dont draw unwanted attention. I am a person of color, on my mother's side we are decendent from Africa and unknown Native American tribes and from Trinidad; there is a generational curse of slavery. There is a generational curse of substance abuse. There is a generational curse of parents being absent in their childrens lives in pursuit of education and/or employment/to better their futures.
