Aloka spoke of trust as if Corva gave it away freely, rather than like a miser spends coin: rarely, and only when proven necessary.

With Aloka gone and the room quiet, Corva was stuck there with just her thoughts and memories. She took a deep breath through her nose to steady herself, and immediately regretted it.

It's been absolutely lovely. Aside from the heat, at least. (Which is kind of a part of where I live anyway.) I've been mostly just going outside with friends or sitting outside, enjoying the sun and taking care of the flora and fauna outside my house. I have all different kinds of flowers where I live and stray cats thrive in our neighborhood!! I can't wait for my rose bushes to be in bloom again.
