ok so there'll probably be more floating around in my head somewhere but this is what I managed to write down for now. itās a bit messy haha :)

Backstory
Their mother died when they were teens; Donna became a lot like her father while Deb took over the role of the mother in the house.
She looked up to her sister a lot. Deb was fearless and looked out for Donna when she was a kid. Their relationship was all bickering and digs at each other but always full of love and respect.
Donna learned swearing from her sister at an early age. Deb had an even worse foul mouth than she.
Used to go hunting and camping with her dad a lot. It was quality time for them and she learned everything she knows from him and Deb. Ā
Her mother insisted on both of them learning how to sew, and Donna is actually quite good at it but she hates it. Sheās more for the rough stuff, big machines, tractors, lawn mowers (iykyk), not fine motor skills.Ā
Her father died just after she met her wife Pat and left Donna his farm since Deb had already moved out and had property of her own with her husband
they both got their stubbornness from their mother, who was a sort of matriarchal figure, decisive and strict, but also very loving. She used to chase away any bad dreams in a heartbeat and, like Donna with Fatima, she had made them dream catchers.
Her wife
Had a wife named Pat(ricia) who she had been married to for decades but who died 2 years before she arrived in Fromville.
Liz mentioned that she thinks that Fromville is a place of āstucknessā and that everyone there is stuck in some kind of way. And so for me, Donna has been stuck in the grief for her wife for a long time and couldnāt move on.
I made like 20 bullet points just about her wife and marriage but I'll spare you that here and put it in a fic instead, it's touched on in Wildflower a little too :)
Donna was obsessed with her wife. Real softie for her, all heart eyes.
The diner is in Fromville because of Donna and what it means to her. (more on that in the fics)
the bracelet donna wears is the equivalent of a wedding ring for her and her wife. she couldnāt wear rings because her fingers tend to swell when sheās working so Pat gave her the silver bracelet.
Personal stuff
Wears menās clothes because theyāre more practical and have pocketsĀ
She was a full-time farmer before she came to Fromville. Lived off of the earnings of produce and livestock and was mostly self sufficient.

According to Liz, Donna listens to 70s music, ACDC, the eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival. I'd add a bit of Springsteen, Guns N Roses & Scorpions to the list depending on mood
fav drinks: gin, beer, whiskey
For all that sheās a hard ass from the outside, sheās sooo clumsy when it comes to people she cares about, sometimes insecure. She wants to get it right so much but doesnāt quite know how to translate her care into actions.
her love language is protecting
doesn't give much of a fuck about gender (roles)--she'll be husband, wife, partner, boyfriend, girlfriend... whatever. it's all the same to her as long as she's yours
she gets too busy sometimes and forgets to prioritise personal matters
you got a problem? donna is the one you call day or night. she'll be there and help with anything she can
Sheās good with kids, looked after her sisterās children a lot and was their fav gay auntie who they get up to lots of mischief with
showers will have to do most days because thereās always things to do around the farm but every once in a while she does enjoy a nice long soak in the bathtub
she can play a little guitar, camp-fire style. but if you ask her sheāll deny it or say sheās bad at it.
Romance
she's always been attracted to women only and knew that early on
In her 20s she was picking up lots of girls at the local dive bar, just craving physical contact, something to hold and fill the silence with.
mostly one-night stands until she met her wife.
she's not one to let her guards down easily or show vulnerability. it takes time and patience with her but she's fiercely loyal once you've cracked her
In Fromville sheād keep a relationship secret at first to not put her partner in dangerĀ or draw unwanted attention e. g. being accused of playing favourites
But everyone would know that one was special and know not to touch her partner or feel Donnaās wrath
Something is wrong with gf? Get Donna. Donna is freaking out? Get gf
she needs someone who is her rock like she is for everyone else, someone grounding
can't say no to her partner
Sheād be very subtle in the way she shows her affection
gf is the only one she listens to and who can get through to her when she's being stubborn
gf gets a special smile
gf gets anything they ask for, if they want a snack even though theyāre on rations--Donna will make it happenĀ
Neck kisses/nuzzling drive her crazy, she loves receiving them, makes her all fuzzy inside and giggling. For that reason, she hates when her gf does it in front of others and it will have repercussions.
