Apple Pie Day - The history of apple pie dates back more than 600 years, to the 14th century with an English recipe. However, it was not cemented as an American classic until around the turn of the 20th century. At that time, in the 1900s, Apple Pie was seen by many people as a healthier option to certain other pies. 

Frog Jumping Day -  Mark Twain was one of the most notorious members of American Literary History, he started with a simple short story known as “Jim Smiley and His Jumping Frog”, included in a compilation called ”The celebrated jumping frog of Calaveras County, and other sketches”.

International Hummus Day -  Hummus is an Eastern Mediterranean and Egyptian food. It may come in the form of a dip or a spread that is made from cooked, mashed chickpeas or other beans, and then blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and garlic.  Hummus can be a healthy part of a tasty Mediterranean diet that provides nutrients, all packed with delicious flavor.

Leprechaun Day - The word leprechaun comes from the Old Irish language, and when traced back to its roots can be translated to mean ‘small body’. Leprechauns were thought to have lived in the fairy rings and fairy houses of Ancient Ireland, and have been referenced in ancient Irish manuscripts as far back as the 12th – 15th Centuries!  Although today’s leprechauns are often depicted as male, with ginger hair, a wiry beard and wearing a green coat and little top hat. The leprechauns referenced in these ancient manuscripts often wore red and were not always male, with female leprechauns known for luring unsuspecting men away from their homes for revelry and adventure.
