#frog catching

Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional. And I totally won, by the way. My frog was bigger, and I had the recording crystal picture to prove it.

Me and a Discord buddy had an idea a while back ago about the PoT apprentices catching frogs during the weird summer cat Olympics. Lionpaw ended up getting stuck and Breezepaw just gave up half way. Reedwhisker is the one wheezing while Leopardstar is done with everyone.

The day trip I planned with my friend finally came at long last. We woke up early, packed a super fabulous breakfast (bagels topped with cream cheese, cucumbers, and smoked salmon) and lunch (turkey-mozerella-proscuitto- ciabatta sandwiches, ripe strawberries, and a peach-kale-spinach-almond-and-blue-cheese salad) before driving two hours to an awesome hiking trail and then completely ditching the trail to clamber over rocks along the stream instead while trying to catch frogs and snakes (because we’re adults and we do what we want). Then we ate our ohmygodamazing lunch, went to a local wine-tasting, and then ate pho for dinner at a delicious Vietnamese restaurant before heading to another hiking trail to catch more frogs. While catching said frogs we ran into the most adorable little girl (who was like 3 years old) who was super excited about us catching frogs and said the most hilarious stuff. Then we went back home. Day = well-spent (but ohmygod so tired).
