It’s Done! Today I ventured to the home of my forefathers, or at least my father, Brooklyn and ran my first half-marathon. I was the kid who dreaded the mile run every. single. year. of my K-12 education so if you had told me 10 years ago, or 5 years ago, or even last year that I would be doing this today I would have probably laughed and asked some sassy question like “Will there be someone running ahead luring me with broadway tickets and black and white cookies from Zaro’s?” (answer: there wasn’t, but if you’re offering, I’m down). But, in fact, I did. I spent around two hours running 13.1 miles today. Whether it was above or below 2 hours is a highly debatable question that I expect to make its way to the Supreme Court (it was above, apparently I need to brush off my Regents Math textbook and study my tangents a little better). Today I proved that with a well curated playlist of inspirational showtunes (and of course the love and support of family, friends, and FrontRunners, anything is possible!
