I get you! Idk my percentages bc I've got a lot of mixed up stuff on both sides but I've got a decent amount of Italian from both sides and my moms side is super Italian and all our traditions are Italian of Italian-American traditions

Yeah... my family's been nice and neat and before my paternal grandparents made my dad and his siblings, both sides had been very neatly mating with like people.  

I feel u like I'm not 100% Italian but my Italian heritage is v important to me like I get that

If I broke down percentages of dna heritage, it's 50% Greek, 25% Italian, 25% Norwegian.  But my paternal grandfather (the Norwegian guy) died when my dad was little and was super abusive.  His family was kind horrible too and we have zero contact with them.  So I ended up being raised Greek Italian.  But it's not an even split for me because my Italian family lives so far away and my Greek family is here in my city.  So it ended up being about 60/40 as far as my cultural heritage goes... and I feel so strongly with that.  I mean, I have the upbringing of Greek and Italian people.  I have the families of Greek and Italian people.  I can meet people in public and recognize them as Greek or Italian without ever knowing anything about them other than their word choices or they way they speak to and about their family... because that's how I was raised.  And I feel such a community with people who were raised in environments like mine.  And having Greek and Italian... like my family Octopus recipe is a special recipe my dad (Italian) and maternal grandmother (Greek) worked on together to combine the Greek and Italian traditional recipes and incorporate the best of both into one dish.  idk... that's something special right there.  And it's just important to me.
