Wobbly New World!
Been talking to my fellow podcasters and Hannah over at Inn Between recommended that we get started over here and I've been looking around and it seems like actually a good idea? Which is WILD because I am the least social media literate person that may yet exist in all of North America. I never did Facebook or Twitter , Myspace, Insta... last thing I actually did was LiveJournal. Which I guess incredibly still exists? I don't know if that really counted as social media
But anyway
Last year I started making a podcast. I honestly can't recommend podcasting enough. Listening to podcasts is great , making a podcast is fun but TALKING to podcasters is incredible. Since I started I've met people who do podcasts about all manner of things and if there is a running theme it's that as a demographic they are optimistic , wholesome , generous with their time and advice and just awesome?. Oh, and ACTORS. Oh man , you need actors in your life.
So I'm taking the leap and plunging in to something new. Looking for friends who like podcasts, who like making podcasts and curious bystanders who might be interested in all the weird things done in the process. Maybe some sound design friends maybe some D&D friends?
Honestly I think I need that. Like I got to talk some of this stuff out of my system. This weekend I have plans to throw raw potatoes on my floor and eat hot soup in front of a microphone and I might post the results on freesound because all the other freely available soup related noises were somehow insufficient for my purposes and somebody else might need the sounds of soup. Not slurping. Just... soup. I will not be the remotely the first to post the sounds of soup either. Did you know that humans can tell whether something liquid is hot or not by the sound something makes?
So yeah. Podcasting. Social Media. Soup. Do I add a hashtag for soup? What happens if I do? I'm gunna find out!
