3. one day, antonia gifted freddie a (stolen) necklace and it launched a contest as to who got the best gift for the other. they got more elaborate (and stranger) as time went on. by the end, the dumped the stuff at goodwill (not the ocean bc they dont litter!) bc it was all useless. they had a good laugh about it
