Hello and welcome to our September prompt! This month we are looking at character development with a question about Myers-Briggs types. As always, this prompt is optional.

Myers-Briggs, better known as MBTI, is a popular personality test that categorizes people based on four different functions; how you receive energy, how you take in information, how you make decisions, and how you approach the world. This can be a really fun way to explore a character from different angles, and a helpful tool for plotting with other writers! 

You may respond to the prompt with a text post, edit, or any combination of the two you come up with! If you do, make sure you tag it with “fracturedrpprompts” and post it to the prompts channel of the group discord.

keep me grounded. is not that alastor forgets social niceties and manners, is that he just couldn’t care less whether people like him or not. which only leads to him coming off as a straight up asshole on his worse days, and a paranoid grump on a daily basis. he could use someone he respects and is strong enough to call him out when he’s being a jerk. to point out where the line is, and making it clear that it is not okay to cross it.

brothers in arms. you are only as good as the person fighting next to you. someone alastor had grown to respect and rely on. they might not always have a heart-to-heart about their feelings, but this is one of the few people alastor knows he can turn to. whether sharing drinks or just being there for each other, this is one of the few people alastor can honestly say he trusts.

sure i’ll teach you. alastor has a hard time believing anyone in their right mind would chose him as a mentor. even so alastor stepped into the role and with each passing generation he gets better at preparing aurors. now with the order he has also taken the responsibility to get them ready for a fight he wished they never had to fight. alastor is always willing to work with anyone who wants to be better prepared and work on refining their technique.

just promise you won’t end up like me. callous grumpy nature aside, alastor is a mentor at heart, and sometimes even if it surprises everyone around, he might end up giving some advice to those brave enough to bring up discussing their feelings with him. rumor says the best time to approach him is when he’s drinking, that’s when he’s more at ease, he might even pour you one.

fight me. it’s not that he lives to make enemies, that’s just something that happens from time to time. with the wizarding society hanging by a fine thread, and alastor living up to his last name every day of the week, everyone could easily fall into this category. whether this is someone who annoys him, like a fellow ministry employee, or someone alastor would love to punch their teeth out if the opportunity ever were to arise.

nothing left to say but goodbye. alastor was born and raised into the pureblood life. his parents were never pureblood elitists, and coming from a long line of aurors they had an impeccable reputation. his family was murdered before any of them could be labeled blood traitors. at sixteen alastor was left to carry on a family legacy. he cultivated many friendships through his childhood and early years in hogwarts. some of those friends, that he once considered family, have now turned out to be on the other side of the war. what happens when the person you would take a hit for is the one pointing the wand at you?

death eater mentor. someone that took it upon themselves to show regulus the ropes when he first joined at 16.

pureblood friends. regulus has yet to cut ties with them, not only on the just for show part, but deep down regulus still cares for them and wonders if his betrayal is revealed, would there be anything left of that friendship.

started with you. the one person that might have planted the idea that the other side was not what regulus had been led to believe.

shadow of a doubt. someone from the order who doesn’t trust regulus, would often point out that reg should not be trusted. (james potter)

fight together or die alone. someone from the order who actually trusts regulus, could even point out that they always knew regulus was not really loyal to the DE cause.

the only exception. regulus believes he doesn't deserve love or to be loved. this would be the one person regulus sees himself building a future with.

romantic ex. this would be someone regulus had a perfect relationship when at school, everything was going well, and then reg got the mark, so he ended things without an explanation.

de & order friends.

best friends: people from the same social circles ( purebloods / sacred 28, wealthy, etc. ) that lucius grew up with. he's always been very picky of who he lets into his inner circle.

past flings: hedonistic in nature, lucius enjoys the finer things in life. when it comes to relationships, he was never too invested or let them progress into something more serious or vulnerable. as soon as he had his needs met or grew bored, lucius moved on. he saw no point in being committed, but things happen so he's probably had one or two actually serious relationships where he actually caught feelings as well.

new death eaters he mentors: lucius is currently living in what he'll later recall as the glory days of him being a death eater. he's currently one of voldemort's most trusted followers and is entrusted with looking over and training some of the new recruits. lucius is ruthless and does not tolerate weakness or people not taking the missions seriously / flaking out.

partner in crime: this is the person lucius will seek out when he needs to take some edge off or when he feels like doing something stupid or impulsive. these two bring out the worse in each other.

wanted dynamics.

outside lovers;; bellatrix and rodolphus have an open marriage unknown to the outside world. the rules are that it stays under the radar, secretive. they aren’t to disrupt their marriage in any way. the people they sleep with are only for sex. women only apply as rodolphus is heterosexual. →

the best friends and confidantes;; obviously a death eater. around his age, preferably known much of his life and a member of the sacred twenty-eight (but they could be worked out under the right circumstances). they have similar personalities but challenge each other respectfully as well. → evan rosier.

biggest enemy;; someone with very big energy and standing. this person thinks they’re quite important — or is seen as important. they have a past which makes the rivalry that much more deep-seated. and even though they’re each other’s nemesis there’s an odd sort of respect for their standing even if it’s on opposite sides of the war. →

wanted dynamics.

lover;; teagan is particular about who she invites into her bed. she takes exceptional care of herself so if she gives away her body it’s a gift and not one taken lightly. she’s not into one night stands. though she is bisexual she is female leaning but anyone can apply if they’re good enough. →

they met in france;; while traveling she began her modeling career in france. after coming back to london for her standing job she reconnectes with this person who brings back either good memories or bad. either can be worked out. →

groupie;; in total awe of teagan and her career. thinks she’s beautiful, smart, fun — all the things she is — but is clumsy with how to interact with her. it could be unhealthy or simple fangirling (but any gender). →

Caitriona Ebing Burke: wanted dynamics

Hello and welcome to our first ever monthly prompt! In August, we are looking at plot building with a task about wanted dynamics! This prompt is strongly encouraged! 

We recently added a wanted dynamics section to the app and bio, and we would love it if our existing players put together a list that we can add to their character/characters’ bios. The idea behind wanted dynamics is to help spark plotting between players, current and future, by providing some general, open-ended relationships you would like for your characters. This is different from wanted connections, which are often about a specific character. As an example, Frank Longbottom is a wanted connection for Alice, but her probationary supervisor is a wanted dynamic. Any character who is an auror could be Alice’s probationary supervisor, so that gives room for players to plot with Alice without writing Frank in particular. We would like the list to include 2-4 dynamics with a brief description of each. The description would be about 1 or 2 sentences, talking about how your character would feel about such a dynamic and how you envision it. We also recommend featuring different types of dynamics; some romantic, some platonic, some adversarial, etc. This prompt should be answered either in a text post or on a blog page and then we would like you to post a link to the prompts channel of the discord server.
