Foxfall, The Extraneous Companion Guide: Hapo, Abba, Hampe
This is usually the part where I would show you the passage the image pairs to, or its original description in the companion guide, but this is the first time something goes here first. hui so novel, ne? Now we have to make up what goes in the actual companion guide together. Here goes, okay?
You know, I thought I had the whole image hosting thing figured out, but than imgur silent ban my account for using their image hosting site as an image hoster... I guess they want to pretend they are social media now, so they don't play nice. For now, Tumblr plays nicer, and now you people only on AO3 can see things that for a while I was only able to share on Discord since I could not post new images. Here is Warden Gaeric's family (and Warden Gaeric). Aiyo, I could have drawn the children a little better but if you try to draw perfectly you will never draw at all, yes? He meant it when he said he's almost three times as wide as Ingo. When I look at his game art and I look at his descendant Wulfric, hm- respectfully, I do not believe that man should be thin or have a six pack. No one before inventing workout gyms has any business with a six pack, much less living in the Icelands! To fix this problem, I put Gaeric into a wine barrel until he was, eh, two decades older and fatter. Mita and her husband are so sturdy and better complexion than Ingo. You can tell how strange he looks when you put him next to literally anyone else. (Also, looking back, apparently I first said he was 5'5". That is wrong. It's 5'3". I said 5'3" every other time except the first! So sorry!) I did actually look quite a bit at Ainu tattooing, the things that ended up on the face and arms and hands, but the end product of that you will not be seeing in this specific drawing. But what you see here, I did actually think about what would be going into Hisuian symbolism. You know, we are always doing research that maybe the readers will only see the half of, because we want things to be sensible and be able to put together later when we need it. We have a rather extensive backlog of images at the moment but many of them are spoilers for things that haven't made it to the story yet. In the meantime, I really do need to exercise the old muscles and make new drawings. Are there references we have never made that you would like to see? Or colorless drawings of certain scenes where you couldn't really picture it? I can't do everyone's requests, of course, but if many people all ask for the same thing, I will do my best! -Aenor
