Brew #343: Foxes Rock American IPA
Abv: 5.2%
Served: Pint on draught at The Plaza Hotel Dundalk
Aroma: Wax, faint malt
Pour: Clear deep amber with white froth reducing to skim
Taste: Fuckin rank, like soapy crayons- I don’t know if it’s the line not being used much or if this is actually the brew but for a pint of ale on home ground this is shocking. There’s a shadow of fruit underneath but the overriding wash of waxy plastic soap makes this one of the worst pints I’ve ever had.

Pour: Light ruby black with an off white skim
Taste: Rich oaty darkness upfront with coffee notes and a biting chocolate finish. Chocolate cocoa on the aftertaste. Grand oul stout.

The Foxes Rock! One of my favourite looking bottles of beers. I love the work behind the graphics from Weareduo design in Northern Ireland. It’s a red ale. It’s got sweet caramel aromas, when poured it’s dark in colour and super clear. It’s nice and easy to drink with subtle bitterness and stronger caramel flavours, but it all goes a little dull too quick and becomes a little boring.
If you like punchy flavourful beers… Don’t buy this.
But if you are branching out from standard American lagers then this is for you.
