The thought crossed his mind so many times that he was certain it wasn’t his own. There were times that he wasn’t himself. The tide was changing. It could easily roll in and sweep them all away. The tapes that his old friend had been posting online... They were dangerous. It would be a lie for him to claim he wasn’t happy about it. His condition was mysterious. Was he happy about the sickness spreading? Not really. He was happy, however, that he may have a way to find answers. Then again, maybe there was an influence forcing him to enjoy the chaos a little bit. He’d been fading in and out of existence until recently. Memories cut in and out. The only thing he hoped for was a way out, whatever that meant.
But here he was, forcing open a window. Breaking into another home. It wasn’t like he was used to breaking into homes people still lived in. That was usually Tim’s issue. Well, it was. They had been puppets for far too long. It was time to become human again. Or something like that...
He wasn’t sure what made Alex search for his old film, but it must have been quite a shock to see his old friend investigating. Of course, the nightmare would return. Given the fact that the man had sacrificed his friends to that creature, it was obvious what he would do if anyone near became infected.
He clearly remembered the flash and the sound of gunfire. The end of his fractured peace. The end of his life. Or his life as it was. Now, hooded and masked, he was inside. He had waited to make sure Alex was nowhere to be found before he did this. If the man was still human, he would care about something happening to this girl. But it was unlikely. She would be safer locked away somewhere with his people. Of course, his accomplices knew nothing of this. But he couldn’t sit by when he knew this would happen. Best not involve Tim. He may become violent or wait around to hurt Alex. That wasn’t part of the plan yet.
He stayed hidden, waiting by the door. Waiting for her to enter the room. It wouldn’t be hard to overpower her.
