there was something different about tonight. there was a certain degree of desperation in the way finnick kissed her. annie was both surprised and curious by this change in him. her instincts told her to kiss him back with just as much fervor. though, she was a bit apprehensive. she was still so new to all of this. she'd hadn’t kissed a single person before meeting finnick nor did she think she ever even liked another person before for him. and the last thing she wanted was to get too lost in the moment and cross a boundary.

before she could even react, his tongue was seeking hers; eliciting a soft moan from the young woman’s lips that surprised even herself. her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she pulled back slightly, her forehead resting against his as she attempted to utter an apology. but he interrupted her, his words reassuring and sweet. that was honestly all she needed to hear before her lips found his again. her hands taking hold of his and then gently placing them against her chest.

everything after that felt like a blur. she was in a euphoric cloud, clumsily falling back on the bed as she pulled him back with her. in the midst, they must have both lost their shirts. she liked feeling his hands on her body. the sensation of his bare skin pressed against hers. the way he caressed her so delicately. her lips never left his until he suddenly pulled away. a small pout formed on swollen lips as she watched him press hot kisses against the exposed skin of her neck down to her stomach.

Which, in their world, wasn't out of the ordinary. Some nephilim were more attuned to seeing ghosts than others, but it wasn't like it was a strange thing. Though, for Clary, he was thinking it might be a bit strange for her. A lot of things in their world was probably strange and it was a lot to get used to. Even more so because she didn't grow up in their world. But he had been trying to help where he could. Between his own assignments and training, he was offering to help Clary with her own training. Jace knew they needed the help and having seen Clary in training knew she would be a welcome addition. Or at least he thought so. His parabatai was a whole other story and one he wasn't going to think about. If Clary had seen something problematic, they needed to figure it out before moving on. "You okay?"

he glanced at the shining silver cuff that connected him to the metal frame of her bed. he could break it, simply pull the damn thing apart but his own curiosity stopped him. it wasnt all the time that a girl was so damn bold, especially one that he could toss over his shoulder without any effort. so he stayed where he was, looking back at wednesday with his brow raised.
