(ENVIR 450 E) All ENVIR majors are required to complete one 5-credit lab based chemistry course - CHEM 120, CHEM 142 or equivalent.  For Spring 2011, we are piloting a new course called "Environmental Chemistry," listed as ENVIR 450 E in the time schedule.  This is a 3-credit lecture based course that does not include a lab but WILL fulfill the chemistry requirement for the environmental studies major. If you take this class, you will not need to take any other chemistry class or lab to fulfill the chemistry requirement. It will be offered MWF 9:30-10:20 and will be taught by Professor Richard Gammon. This is a wonderful opportunity to fulfill the chemistry requirement while getting it with an environmental focus!
**Environmental Pedagogy: How do you teach environmental studies? (ENVIR 450 H) Ever wanted to learn about how to teach environmental studies? During Spring 2011, we will be offering an environmental pedagogy class where you will learn how to teach environmental studies. For students entering the program Autumn 2010 or later, this will count towards the "Other Quantitative Methods" requirement. For students entering the program before Autumn 2010, this will count towards the "Tools & Technologies" requirement. This course is listed under ENVIR 450 H: Environmental Pedagogy. It will be offered WF 10:30-11:50 and will be taught by PoE Post-doc Beth Wheat!
