I worked out my pronoun set a while ago but wanted some advice on making a nice little post to coin them. That advice came from the great account @neopronounfaq who posts lovely pronoun guides!
My pronouns are Sil/Fos/Foss/Fossilf!
The best group for my pronoun set is probably going to be nounself pronouns because it is based off of a noun word - fossil, although I suppose the style of it fits a little better with sets closer to ze/hir. I’m going to be comparing it to the she/her set for the description. Hold on because this post might get long.
‘She liked that.’ --> ‘Sil liked that.’Â
The ‘She’ of the set. Simple. Pronounced to rhyme with mill, till, will, etc.
‘I saw her today.’ --> ‘I saw fos today.’
The ‘Her’ of the set. Also not a lot of detail to go into about this one. Pronounced to rhyme with moss, loss, etc.
Possessive Adjective: Fos
‘That is her bag.’ --> ‘That is fos bag.’
A lot of sets have the same object as possessive adjective. No different here. Same pronunciation as above.
‘It is hers.’ --> ‘ It is foss.’
What do most sets do to make the possessive adjective the possessive pronoun? Add an ‘s’ to the end. No different here. While it is written different to fos, they are pronounced the same way!
‘She did it by herself.’ --> ‘Sil did it by fossilf.’
No, I’m not just bad at spelling, this set does just ‘silf’ instead of ‘self’. There are two main reasons for this - firstly, using silf makes the set include the full original word from which it is based. ‘Fossilself’ sounds like a mouthful to me personally, whereas fossilf I like. Secondly, I am happy with being able to remove the term ‘self’ from the set because I don’t like it very much - considering my gender, my identity is essentially obscured from me, I cannot see my own sense of self so I do not wish to label mysilf as a self. (As a note, I will also be using the term mysilf to refer to me for the same reason.’). Pronunciation is hard because I cannot think of a single word that rhymes with it, but breaking it down into sounds, it would be ‘fo-sill-ph’. That was a big chunk of text.

Can I use this pronoun set? Are there any requirements? Do I need to ask/tell you?
Yes, no, no! Go ahead and use the set! While my blog is very much about coining terms for me, I in no way intend for them only to be used by me. MOGAI and neopronouns are all about finding perfect terms and labels to define you and if the terms and sets I have coined do that for you, I will not stop you! You don’t need to ask me to use them, or tell me (although if you do tell me, I will be happy to know! It’s just not required.)
Can I make my own sets using silf instead of self?
Can I use mysilf to refer to me, instead of using myself?

What other pronouns do you use?
I would really prefer it if you used this sil/fos set for me, but if you want then they/them is also okay. But please do not use she/her or he/him.
