Sure, after talking to Glasses Guy (Indrid, he tried to remind himself) he knew that there were plenty of nonhuman beings here, too, but this is just a step too far into surreality and it makes him a little uncomfortable.

Wirt’s first few days in Isola were rife with enough danger to last him a lifetime, though he feared that there would be much more of that in store for him. Though there were enough friendly folks, not everyone - foreign or resident - were always kind.
A flock of chickadees twittered loudly in the canopy, picking through the autumn-ripened seeds before another storm set in. His heart twisting in a pained knot as memories resurfaced, Wirt paused a moment to watch them. He hoped the people he cared about were safe. More importantly, he needed to be safe. Darkness was fast approaching, and it would be best for him to make it back to his lodgings fast. Still, he found himself lingering for just a moment.
“What sins does my heart entomb, that beings of dread darkness dog my every step?” Wirt muttered, so wrapped up in his thoughts that he was entirely oblivious to his surroundings.

Cosmo loved seeing all the decorations up for Halloween, all pumpkins, skeletons, bats, and other spooky things. Cosmo rarely celebrated this holiday in Dreamside, but the probably just found their new favorite holiday. The decorations were very interesting to them. They walked, well, floated around in their little Astronaut Costume (which has anti-gravity boots, which is why they’re floating) as they embraced the haunting atmosphere.
Cosmo approached a hanging ‘decoration’ they found near a store. “Wow! This Puppet Pumpkin thing looks so cool!” They touch it to see what it felt like, when suddenly it moved! “Woah!” Cosmo hovers back in surprise. It was no decoration! It was Besty! “Oh, it’s just you, Besty!” Cosmo giggles. “I’m sorry if I startled you! You blended in so well with the spooky atmosphere, I thought you were a Halloween Decoration!”
