@forrkeeps // GREG & NICK
There was never a shortage of murder in Las Vegas. On any given day, Greg could find himself in a penthouse in the ritziest hotel in town, or waist-deep in a runoff slew, fishing bits and pieces of slimy gunk out of the filters.
It kept things interesting, though he had to admit: any day that didn't involve hip waders and a skimmer was a better one.
Cherry de Vine had been a stage act at Shaken & Stirred for years-- a perpetual up-and-coming star that never seemed to get the break she needed.
Someone had stabbed her in her apartment, and Nick and Greg had drawn the long straw... The short one was Warrick and Catherine fishing a floater out of Lake Mead.
"No sign of forced entry. You think she knew the killer?" Greg asked, shifting his field kit to his other hand, and shuffling through the door.
The inside of the apartment looked like you'd picture a showgirl's dressing room in an 80s film. Glitter and clothes, and more high heels than Greg could shake a stick at. A mess with a big blood stain in the middle of the floor.
"Laughter definitely wasn't the best medicine tonight."
@forrkeeps said: โ ย where in the world have you been hiding?ย โ (Ira Prasad from Liam Dunbar!)
โฃ THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
"Not hiding," Ira responds, smiling warmly, because he is warm, and he is bright, and he doesn't hide from anything, and certainly not from anyone. He has, however, been a touch unreachable for a few days, as he's had something he's been working on that's been taking a fair amount of his time. Something could be said about muse, but that would only make him sound pretentious, and Ira hates to sound pretentious.
"Just working." There's paintstains on his fingers to prove it, and a certain gleam in his eyes that suggests he's been somewhere only an artist can understand. "Have I been needed?"

ย ย ย ย They had been separated for months and truth be told, he wasnโt entirely sure why Arthur was here to begin with. In the first few months, heโd stayed with some Druids. After he thought it might be safe to stay with his mother, he did so. As far as he knew, Arthurโs knights had already been to Ealdor, there was no reason for Arthur himself to show up there. However, there had been a knock at the door and Merlin cast the spell over himself quickly before his mother opened it. Hunith seemed startled and he stood to go see who was there.
ย ย ย ย โArthur? What are you doing here?โ
ย ย ย ย They had tried at a relationship, they had tried to be together after everything was out in the open and there was no more war to be worried about. And yet everything had gone downhill and it had gone downhill fast. He had never thought heโd see Arthur again and truthfully, it would probably be for the best because it would leave less explanations that he was not ready to give. Hunith allowed Arthur in and busied about making them some tea. He stood awkwardly in the kitchen with Arthur, wondering what he was doing there still and worried the other man might be able to see through his glamour. He should tell him the truth, tell him their union brought about something that shouldnโt even be possible and yet ...
ย ย ย ย Two mugs were sat at the table and Hunith told him sheโd be outside if he needed her. Merlin opened his mouth to complain, but she was gone before he had a chance to say anything. Darn, his mother knew just what she was doing. Merlin sat down, having felt the need to not be on his feet in recent months as it was.
ย ย ย ย โWell, sit down. My mother didnโt make you tea for nothing, you know. And you can also start by telling me what youโre doing here too.โ
ย ย ย ย It had been a good seven months since heโd seen Arthur. No letters, no nothing. Heโd figured they were done. So what was he doing here?

Merlin has been pulled in all different directions the past few days. Thanks to Uther deciding that the visiting royal needed as many servants as possible most of the serving staff of Camelot were working twice as much as they should. So Merlin had to run from the visitorโs chambers to Arthurโs to bring his dinner.ย โWell, looks like you have bread, soup, chicken, various vegetables and a muffin. A meal fit for a clotpole.โ Despite the jab thrown in there his voice betrays his tiredness.

@forrkeepsโ sent:ย can i borrow you for a minute?
โone second.โ the mage replies, still staring down at the notebook in front of him. the pages are barely legible - scribbles of runes and a variety of alphabets and papers clippings, the evidence of darcyโs current research project. a moment later, the theory in his mind finally coming together, he reaches for a quill and then scribbles something, as legible as the rest of his notes, down before notebook is shut.ย โsorry, uh, brain was onto somethinโ. everything okay?โ
@forrkeepsโ
โsire.โ he bows but gets right to business.ย โthe kingdom is scared. i am hearing talk of bandits attacking supply carts coming along the main road. i wish to see if we can bait them into attacking and stop this before we are being faced with the loss of innocent life.โ while no one had died YETย he didnโt want anyone dying because they attempted to defend their quarries.
ย ย โThere you are, sire! What are you doing in here? Shouldnโt you be at the feast?โ Merlin had been there, but when more and more people started realizing that the king wasnโt there, he had to go see what was going on.ย โCome on. Youโll miss the present opening if you donโt show up.โ He wandered over to Arthur and wondered if he was sick or something. Surely he hadnโt fallen ill without him noticing, but then, illness had been more likely to spread around this time of the year.ย โArthur? Are you alright?โย
@forrkeepsโ ; liked.
