Since you work with many monsters of varying ages, with the younger ones by definition of being in your care not having their birth parents around, do you have any interesting stories of younger monsters inheriting behaviours from older ones that they would never naturally exhibit?
The thought came to me when this morning I saw an adolescent Rathalos performing the signature backflip tail swipe of Rathian - I'm guessing his mother either had to raise him on her own or with the help of another Rathian.
Same sex couples raising their young to have their signature talents wouldn't be out of the realm of the ordinary. A lot of wyverns are homosexual, and raise young that's either orphaned or abandoned - sometimes they even just mate with the other sex just to raise the offspring with their preferred partner.
e.g A pair of male Forokururu, very preciously preening their young.
Nature is full of same sex couples, and their teachings are passed down to future generations. We live on a queer planet, and we should be proud of it.
