Old journal entry from 2010, when I lived in conservative Indiana, complaining about gas prices. “I’m sure the Liberals are behind this.” I used to be That Guy! 🤦‍♂️

Not only because, i was, well, a conservative, but because i feel as much as i try to be accepting some lingering hate is still there

For example, a dev at team cherry(Jasmine, formerly jack Vine) recently came out as transfem, and upon hearing the news i am happy for them but i feel as though there seems to be some prejudice lingering in me where it feels weird for some reason, like i support trans people but when someone actually comes out as trans I seem to feel weird about that when I want to be accepting

If the Muppets are on the opposite side of a political or social issue from you, do not argue with them. It will only end in tears.

I have already demonstrated why this is a bad idea.

Its not like the Muppets often take stances on the issues of the day and when they do its usually in a rather polite and gentle manner. You don’t see many Muppets engaging in demonization or character assassinations.

The Muppets are pretty much also universally loved and adored. I can’t think of anyone who doesn’t like the Muppets.

…but really it comes down to this: Its kind of hard to maintain one’s dignity when you are arguing with a an extremely vain pig in an evening gown or a bear in a floppy hat who tells really bad jokes or a blue hook nosed monster thing that shoots himself out of a cannon or someone who is incapable of saying anything other than “meee meee meee meee.” If you’re doing that, you probably are taking yourself way too seriously which in turn makes you look like a complete and utter idiot.
