A Very Early Form 1
If you’re an American gun owner you will be familiar with the National Firearms Act of 1934. Those withing to own a short barrelled weapon a suppressor or an automatic weapon must file a ‘Form 1′ to apply for a tax stamp to own the weapon legally. Back then, just as today, the NFA tax stamp cost $200, if we adjust that for inflation it would be somewhere near $3,900 today.
Our friends at the Cody Firearms Museum recently discovered the original Form 1 for a rifle in their collection - a Winchester Model 94, chambered in 30-30, with a 15 inch barrel.
The rifle was owned by R.F. Chatfield-Taylor, who worked at Tuscon airport at the time. His rifle had a 15in barrel and a rear peep sight. In November 1935 he applied for and was granted a tax stamp, just 5 months after the NFA became US law, for the rifle he purchased in 1933. His Form 1 may be one of the oldest surviving physical NFA Form 1s.
I did some research and wrote up the story for TFB, check it out here.

Before I get too far on this subject, I want to make it very clear that I am not a good can builder. Everything that I’ve put together is off the shelf shit. There is the warning I am giving to everyone , so if you are still reading this its your own fault and you need to take what I am saying with a grain of salt and do more research than I am offering.

I always thought Freeza was female when I was a kid. Kinda blew my mind when I found out he was male. Is it still #Animay?

SBR or AR Pistol?
I’m thinking about picking up a stripped lower receiver and use it to build an SBR from my AR pistol. I would of course Form 1 it with the ATF and follow all legal requirements. Reason why I wouldn’t use the receiver from my pistol is a just in case laws change etc... I could always transfer the parts back to the pistol lower which isn’t on file anywhere.
Ok let’s hear everyone’s thoughts on this.
