• Also, I’m scratching the whole ‘Bonnie isn’t playing with Woody as much anymore’ plotline because it was so forced/made no sense. So Woody still goes with Bonnie to kindergarten as she secretly sneaks him into her bag for support, and whilst he’s there, notices some arts & crafts kit upon a tray storage unit and stealthily yet successfully brings it to Bonnie’s table.

• This of course brings us to Forky. Now he’s an actual arts & crafts toy - based on those ‘create your own’ kits I often saw as a kid - and thus has no problem at all with coming to life after being fully crafted by Bonnie. He starts off as an innocent, peppy little tike, excited to be played with and make friends with her toys, only for then have some… complications arise regarding his physique. As Bonnie plays with him during a family road trip, parts of his body keep falling apart: his googly eyes plop off, his arms come undone and even his legs slip off too. The experiences cause Forky to reconsider that maybe he’s not good enough to be a toy after all; this leads him to throwing himself out the RV window but played seriously.

(Also, Forky refers Woody as ‘Daddy’ as he’s like a father figure to him; as a cute little gag)

• So now there’s the A plot where Woody and Buzz leave the RV too in hoping to rescue Forky from whatever dangers out there, whilst the B plot which later comes in focuses on Jessie, Bullseye and the other toys going out on their own search after the duo not returning all night. Both plots involve meeting new toys along the way.

• Onto Gabby Gabby now, who’s a real villain here. A once beloved girls’ doll from the 50s, but while other dolls of her were beloved, she specifically never had one due to being discarded no thanks to her dysfunctional voice box. She grows bitter and believes no child would ever want a toy which isn’t deemed perfect. After spending decades inside the antique store she found, came across an opportunity for herself after meeting Woody - you obviously knows where this leads. She eventually keeps Forky as a bargaining chip and takes advantage of his insecurities to prevent him from leaving - causing an emotional rift between him and Woody.

• Oh, and I changed her henchman to being a big wrestler toy named Macho; more threatening and competent than some silly Slappy knockoffs.

• Lastly, there’s not much I’ve changed with Duke Caboom, only minor ones that make a big difference. His backstory of not living up to his commercial leading his kid to throw him away is the same but is taken maturely, with Buzz starting to form a bond with him knowing that he went through a similar struggle during the first movie. Plus, personality wise, he’s now a homage to Keanu Reeves’ more serious roles such as Jon Wick and Shadow.

• To recap, the plot I have so far has to do with the imperfections some toys can struggle with, and how they can either grow pass them and learn they can still be loved by a kid or let their disability push them to the brink of doing the worse actions to fix themselves (*cough* Gabby *cough*). Still deciding on what to do with Woody, Buzz and the others but I’m getting there.
