“Y’know when I heard there was a new Wheeler coming to town, I thought to myself ‘Steve you know she’s going to have that trademark Wheeler beauty’ “ Steve smiled as he spoke, resting one hand on his hip and extending the other “and, I was right.”

Derek had come to this town for one reason, the energy. He had never been to a place before that had such strong currents, ones he had never felt before. He could tell that things were going to go to shit just by his senses. He stood in the middle of the woods, a creepy feeling crawling up his back. His eyes wanted to flicker to red, a showing of power. He whipped around to find a girl standing there, clearly not the one creating whatever was here. She was very much human. “What are you doing out here?” He asked, raising a brow in her direction. “It’s not safe to be in the woods all by yourself.”

    “Wait, I got this,” Noah jumped in front of her before she had a chance to pay for her order, addressing the barista he added, “can you throw a hazelnut praline latte on there too. Extra foam, extra hot, extra.. fast.”  He looked at the woman and smiled, “Sorry. It was my new years resolution to indulge in more random acts of kindness and you’re my victim for the day so,” he pointed towards the cup in her hand, “that’s on me.”

“...” Charlie stared for a moment, trying to decide how to even answer this sentiment. He shrugged, taking in a deep breath and arched a brow. “Guess you’re right. He’s not exactly a major dreamboat like the girls are saying these days, is he?”

"It was kind of sleazy and now it's kind of over..." Carol quoted one of her favorite lines from St. Elmo's Fire as they watched it. She'd seen the movie a million times and she swore that each time she loved it just a little bit more. "Yep. Exactly like Jules said. That describes my whole relationship with Tommy right there." The redhead rolled her eyes as she reached for more popcorn. The sound of snoring made her giggle. “Look she’s already passed out.” She pointed towards Nancy who swore she could make it the entire movie. “Should we play a prank or just let her rest?”  Oh how she loved movie nights with the girls. Being single wasn’t all that bad.

“I don’t know...I think they mean well.” Jo was always defending her parents even when they did things that hurt her. “It’s not their fault when they don’t really know me. I’m just not ready to tell them anything yet...” She was pretty upset that they’d set her up on another date with a boy from the church. But Hayley seemed even more upset. Downright angry. That upset Jo and she was torn between upsetting her parents and the girl that she’d come to care so much about. Neither option was ideal. “Look, nothing is going to come of it.” It never had before. Jo didn’t like boys. Never had never would. As far as she was concerned she was a straight boy. She liked girls. It was something she knew but was still having trouble coming to terms with. Part of her felt like she didn’t deserve to be who she really was. Not at the expense of other peoples happiness. It was also nearly impossible when she felt like really embracing it would mean she’d have to live two completely separate lives. But wasn’t she already doing that? “If it means that much to you I’ll tell them that I respectfully decline.” That would start another world war in the March house. Mama would cry and her father would get angry at her and punish her for upsetting her mother. It didn’t matter that she was an adult. She still lived under their roof. 

“What- I-” his breath shook as he tried to wrap his head around what happened. He remembered running to protect one of the children from the thing attacking their town.. it took a swing at him and then... oh..
