In the Forest Tale Au where Nightmare becomes Corrupted, after everything that has happened does he keep Dream close? Or push him away?
Flix tries his best to maintain the closeness he had with Aven before the incident. Though it becomes way harder for him to communicate with the other, since no matter how he wants his phrases to sound, they always come out plain and emotionless, making him seem bored or uninterested (one of the consequences of his corruption).
He also becomes more protective of the other, letting little to no mortals into the True Forest, not wanting someone to try and attack the other again or steal something from the Forest.

So there is an outcome where Nightmare becomes corrupted. Though not exactly in a way you’d think.
One day a group of mortals came to the forest prepared. They brought special enchanted weapons that would be able to interact with spirits physically. While they were going through the forest they saw Dream and attacked him, but instead of killing him right away they restrained him with enchanted ropes, bringing him along. Dream was easily overpowered because he was not in his designated area of the Forest, being in the True one at the time. Nightmare saw them and what they did to Dream and attacked them, not really caring about dragging Nim into this. He killed the mortals, but since he and Dream were not supposed to kill anyone and just bring them to Nim, their souls were dependent on the forest instead of the other way around (Like it is with Nim). Because Nightmare killed those mortals, his soul tried to consume the powers of theirs, but it couldn’t handle it and just got destroyed. Thankfully, since Nightmare was not the normal spirit, he didn’t lose himself along with losing his soul, but became significantly less emotional. The True Forest also changed in its palette, shifting to the darker shades of colors and making a bit more accent on blues than purlples.
