I landed on planet Senior approximately 17 rotations ago.
To begin with, the time that Senior takes to rotate once on its axis is nearly identical to the time it takes Summer to do so. This is rather convenient for me, and all who take the same journey. Although I do believe there will be some changes, as far as the planet goes. For instance, Senior seems to have a more extreme tilt to its axis, meaning I will experience what the Seniorans call “seasons.” This will be a very interesting change compared to Summer, where the climate was relatively the same day to day (with the exception of brief rain storms, of course). I do hope it rains here on Senior too.
Now that meteorology is out of the way, perhaps I should provide a brief explanation of my experiences. As a captain, I was aware that I would have to travel to Senior. I did not want to, but I will live up to any challenge. Summer was quiet and slow, and in all ways Senior is the opposite. Almost nothing takes place on my terms, and although I have my own schedule, it seems as though I am on everyone else’s.
My journey to Senior is a follow up to my time spent on other planets. My main focus on these journeys is to study, learn, and grow as a person. So far, I have been successful. I chose only four fields of study because I knew that each one would be intensive and consuming. I picked Calvaria Bem Con at Prese, Biotin at Prese, Lithocarpus at Prese, and Ametropian Postulates at Prese.
I was disappointed to find out that although I was only focused on those four subjects, I was spread to thin. I did not have as much time to complete my non-academic goals as I had hoped. To ease my struggles I talked to the representative for my sub-district in order to make changes. After filling out many papers and getting approval from Motherboard, I had dropped Calvaria Bem Con at Prese to a lower level: Calvaria Ake Pano at Prese.
The work I was required to do did not considerably drop, I am disheartened to report. The pace did slow down, though. This makes my job easier, if not less time intensive. My studies have kept me very busy. That is the reason I have not entered in my Captain's Log since I landed. It has taken me nearly 18 rotations to get accustomed to the customs and schedule of these strange Seniorans, and to get used to my new responsibilities. (I say accustomed, but I am still, unfortunately, in a learning phase.)
Only today I have I found myself with enough down time to protect my mental health and to complete a log entry. Hopefully I will write again shortly; however, I am sure that more adventures and trials are coming my way.
