Quick-Play Spells are some of the most effective cards available since the creation of the game. While Trap Cards need to wait a turn to be available against any opponent actions, Quick-Play Spells can be used at any moment from our hand during our turn and act as a Trap when Set during the opponent's. They have very effective purposes in all sorts of Decks to immediately counter big threats and setups, making even the simplest or most restricted effects have a powerful use by just waiting in our hand for the right moment.

"Forbidden Scripture" is probably the least popular of the Forbidden Spell Cards, yet can become one of the most effective when it comes to some battles. Only available when two monsters battle, "Forbidden Scripture" nullifies all other effects active on the field, and damage calculation applies the original stats of the two monsters. In short, "Forbidden Scripture" make sure the battle is as default as possible by nullifying all sorts of abilities that might manipulate it. And since its use is active in such narrow position that is the Damage Step, the outcomes arround "Forbidden Scripture" will be very hard to counter and obtain the results we are looking for in the battle that is used.

The use of "Forbidden Scripture" is clearly against Decks that tries to get on the lead in the Battle Phase. If the opponent's monsters relies on ATK boosts and battle effects such as "D.D. Warrior Lady" they'll have a tough time when affected by this Spell Card as is activated during the Damage Step. A very effective use is against popular hand effects such as "Honest" and "Bujingi Crane", as they bring powerful stat boosts which they can't provide once the Spell is in use. Similarly, "Forbidden Scripture" can also answer against other Quick-Play Spells that tries to change the monsters' stats during the Damage Step. To make "Forbidden Scripture" less situational, is also highly effective to counter Flip effects when confronting Set monsters as their won't trigger by our attack. Don't ignore the fact that all effects on the field will be negated during the Damage Step, letting us pass through effects like "Soul Drain" or "Vanity's Emptiness" if are affecting some of our abilities during the battle.

Although requires some knowledge of how the Damage Step works and the timing is activated on, "Forbidden Scripture" is a very efficient card to make sure we have the cleanest battle as possible. The more dependable the opponent is on their effects and stat boosts to have the lead in the Battle Phase, the more powerful "Forbidden Scripture" will become against their setups and strategies. However, its undeniable that its usage is extremely restricted to the Damage Step and against very particular Decks, becoming overshadowed by weaker yet more open alternatives to lead battles with. "Forbidden Scripture" might not be as prominent as other Quick-Play Spells, but can become a powerful Side Deck option to confront battle focused Decks.
