Inside a child's smile
Not too long ago I had no time for kids. Now I am a teacher and just the thought of leaving them next year makes my eyes water. I have 200 little chickpeas that make my heart melt every time i'm with them. Hearing "Teacher Kirsty" in a high, excited squeaky voice at 7 am in the corridor gives me a high no drug ever can. Sharing a bond together, knowing they respect and care about you just as much as you do them is a refreshing insight. Most people are too afraid to tell or show someone how they feel, but not children. They make sure you know it, every minute of every day, then they crack on picking that bogey out their nose, or shooting each other with their gun rulers like it's no big deal. Children have a revitalizing burst of happiness which has entered my life and become contagious. That big grin stretched across one of my students face when they see me is my reason for living in this current time/ place and culture right now.
