Tomorrow is the day that I drop my senior thesis, a.k.a. the first section of my historical-fantasy animated webcomic!
Here's a sneak peek at what's incoming-- Museum exhibits! Animated panels! Byzantine architecture! And helpful advice on the edibility of different objects!
[image id 1: Title card, "Excerpts from the exhibit, 'Fashion of the Archaean Medium", as presented at The Museum of Erial-Archaean History". Then two illustrations in orange and blue with captions on a black background. The first shows several intricate pieces of jewelry, captioned, "Silver was believed to attract holy spirits." The second is several glass and ceramic vessels, captioned, "Cosmetics of the time were used to enhance a sense of mystery."]
[image id 2: Three panels of a person climbing out a window. In the first, they are peering over the edge suspiciously; in the second, hauling themselves up with a 'hup', and in the third, they hit their elbow on the sill with a 'thwack' and overbalance.]
[image id 3: A large introductory shot of a marketplace with several stalls, again in a warmly lit Byzantine city. There are people milling about as well as several kinds of animals, some of which look neon and unnatural. The lizard-creature from the previous image is on top of one of the stalls, talking to the person perusing the wares, saying "You can't eat that." In the second panel, the view is from inside the stall, and we can see the person saying, "This is a food place, no?" to which the lizard replies, "That's raw food. You need to cook it first, stupid."]
[image id 4: Three long narrow panels- the first showing someone's feet as they're running, with the lizard-like creature from previous images on their heels; the second showing their nervous eyes as they look over one shoulder; the third showing several oranges they're clutching to their chest. Then there is a large zoomed out panel showing the gates of a walled city at sunset, with a tiny figure of a person running out the gates.]
have a panel from today's work on my senior thesis that has satisfying anatomyÂ
[image id: a diagonal panel, framed in black, close up on the legs of a person getting up from a kneeling position. They have bare feet with rings and anklets, and fancy embroidered hems to their tunic. They are grabbing a decorated rod off the ground with one hand. A transluscent lizard-like creature is climbing up their leg.]

an excerpt i like from my narrative forms final project this semester, which was 10 long pages of comic composition
[id: four comic panels of my OCs, Sterling and the lizard Foolbug. The first three panels cut diagaonally across the page, depicting: 1. Sterling bringing food to their mouth; 2. a peeled and partially eaten orange in their lap, with Foolbug’s claws digging into their knee; 3. Foolbug staring intensely. In the final panel, Sterling looks considering, orange in their mouth, before saying, “...Try some.”]
some of the drawwwwing i got done in todays stream! everyone loves a foolbug, ive been told
[image id: a fully rendered panel of my OC, Sterling, standing in front of a cobblestone alleyway, looking around suspiciously. They're barefoot, in a green tunic with a brown belt, with one hand on their shoulder and the other holding a small rod. They have lots of jewelry hanging off them. A lizard monster, Foolbug, is clinging to their shoulder and looking around excitedly. Sterling casts a shadow, but Foolbug does not.]

final color study / potential cover page! art good sometimes
[image id: a digital painting of of a human, sterling, sitting on the ground in front of a narrow alleyway. they have their knees bent under them, shading their eyes from the bright sun. they’re wearing a simple tunic and a thick belt, with stained fingers and shiny bands of jewelry on their wrists and ankles. on the ground in front of them is a short metal rod, and a grinning monster perched on the alley wall is peering down at them. the entire piece is painted in vibrant shades of terracotta and seafoam.]
