Media meta/analysis master-post
See my analysis posts in Chronological order: #TJ Overanalysis
Tags to mute, if desired: #Undescribed (For posts with undescribed images), #Unsubtitled (For audio-reliant posts without subtitles or a transcript).
[I sometimes leave predominantly text posts with undescribed images untagged if the content of said images is implied or happenstance described by the text's analysis itself, but do let me know if I should be more or less liberal with the undescribed tag.]
Topical tags that include reblogs:
#LU Meta
#LOZ Meta
#Linked Universe
#My Hero Academia
#Folklore Stuff
#Disability Stuff
#LGBTQIA+
#Fantasy Anthropology
#Magical Girls āØ
#Described (I describe a lot of Legend Of Zelda content & the occasional Linked Universe fanart, especially those associated with prose-based fanfiction. You'll also find reblogs of artist-described art from various fandoms, the quality of which may vary depending on the fandom because I want to encourage those new to the art of description to keep at it! I'll never knowingly share completely useless descriptions or outright malicious misuse of the alt text field, and am open to input on my own style, as I do tend to experiment quite a bit.)
#The Gurlz Of LOZ
Additional tags that may be of interest (Behold, the most elaborate tagging system known to man): [Under construction]
#Hero Of The Wild (Includes all linksmeet AU & vanilla LOZ variations, including some but not all the posts I tag as LU Wild.)
Anyways, below is a list of hyperlinks to some of my notable media meta posts organized by franchise. Not all of the old ones have described images at the moment.
Magikarp And The Dragons Gate:
Itās Connection With Chinese And Japanese Mythology.

Itās impressive how much thought has been put behind Pokemon designs as far back as the original Red/Blue games in 1996. Ā The designers took inspiration from a plethora of mythologies and urban legends.Ā
Magikarp is no exception. Ā The āuselessā fish that in the first game could only learn the move splash, which does nothing, and tackle, one of the weakest moves in the game. Ā You can catch it early in the game with an old rod.
And yet, the so called āuselessā fish turns out to not be so useless after all⦠after you evolve it at level 20. Ā
Magikarp evolves into one of the most powerful water types in the game, and one of the most intimidating Pokemon in the anime; Gyarados. Ā The little Pokemon grows up to be a powerhouse, able to obliterate anyone whoās ever dared to make fun of it as a smaller fish.
Yet this seemingly random glow-up isnāt quite as random as it might seem at first; Magikarpās ascension into badassery turns out to have clear roots in a similar tale of perseverance and ascension in Chinese and Japanese mythology.
The legend is most commonly known as the Carp And The Dragons Gate legend where some kind of fish turns into an almighty dragon.Ā

āAnd itā took you five whole minutes to packā us up and leave me with it holdin' all this love out here in the hall.ā - exile
āI heard your key turn in the door down the hallway. Is that your key in the door? Is it okay? Is it you? Or have they come to take me away? To take me away.ā - Hits Different
Is it weird that I still haven't received folklore? I ordered it on Taylor's website the exact day it came out. I live in Italy btw.

Note:
When I refer to Headless Horsemen, Iām not talking about the Irish Dullahan. Dullahan can be female and usuallyĀ are in possession of their head; itās just not where itās supposed to be.
(Honestly that should have tipped off Ichabod that Brom was playing a joke. The Horsemenās goal in the legend was to find his head, if he had his head, he shouldnāt have been riding anymore).
this is a long shot but does anyone know any french horror stories
Anon! Just letting you know that I got your message and I will try to write something up by tonight. Feel free to get back to me if there are any areas that you are particularly interested in, otherwise Iāll probably just ramble on about the first things that come to mind :D
