I think I know at least one of these, but just to be sure:
Legend Yeeted to TOTK (self explanatory, but I want whatever deets you can share)
and Shrubbery (I think I know this one, but just in case...)
Wild: Explains BOTW's first DLC trial.
The Chain: Champion, what the fuck.
My current WIP! Featuring some worldbuilding on how cursed items are defined, also Wild having a crashout that wasn't in my original outline, but I think I can work with that, actually.
A distinct, shiink of energy, & a soft amber glow eminating from the trusted blade on his back, gave Legend pause. Dread blooms slowly from his heart & trickles outward to sieze his whole body as he freezes.
The Master Sword hasn't glowed since his last fight with Ganon himself.
His eyes scan the rapidly darkening underbrush. He knew nighttime was fast approaching, but, surely not that fast, right?
Fi's energy pulsed, & somehow he knew to turn towards a particularly dark shadow behind him & to his left. An unnatural patch of blackness in the ground.
& now there's just⦠hands. Several of them, like dark elderich wallmasters, but annervingly skinnier & longer, hunched & bent into themselves in all directions, as if looking for something.
Legend draws his blade, the hands spot him.
If Legend had seen the eyes in their palms sooner, he might have opted for a bow, but by the time the hands scream & start reaching towards him, he's already charging his attack. The hands surround him, The spin does nothing. He's grabbed.
But instead of being taken somewhere like he's used to from wallmasters, the hand, keeps, crushing him. It hurts, & he feels his strength draining away, almost like a bubble but not quite. Alarmingly, very unlike a bubble.
He struggles, realizing he'll need to run, fuck. But there's so many, & they moved so fast earlier, his prgasus boots will need a precious second to activate once he hits the ground, can he even...
His racing thoughts are interrupted by a sudden screech to his right, one of the hands recoiling sharply as if struck.
The monster had barely finished recoiling when, this time, Legend notices the telltale whish as an arrow barely misses his own head, but strikes another of the foes directly in the eye yet again.
He's never been this close, but he can't help but breathe a sigh of relief, he's certain he's seen not one, but three arrows fall to the ground as the hand flails about. He's knows only one person crazy enough to even attempt losing that many arrows at once.
Sure enough, Wild's voice, oddly hoarse, but unmistakably Wild's pierces through the din,
"Keep fighting! Get out! I'll cover you!" Legend pushes the pang of worry at the Champion's own condition aside to do just that, he pushes & kicks at the hand as hard as he can, surely his power bracelet might...
The hands release him abruptly, and he feels that distinct temporal twist that tends to come when Wild uses his magic. Several screeches pierce the air as Legend makes a break for it, as fast as he could.
By the time the monster finished recoiling, a new barrage landed upon it, this time bomb arrows. Legend readied his ice rod just in case, but the monster barely manages to gain an inch.
Legend risks a glance towards his companion, wondering if the others are with him, it's hard to see in the darkness, but, what the fuck happened to his arm?
Been chipping away at this one bit by bit! It's the one where Legend gets seperated from the Chain but meets Wild's future self during the events of TOTK! That's a fight scene snippet I'm particularly proud of β¨
You Know What? Fuck You (Throws Ur Shrubbery)
@thatonecrazysidekick asked about this as well!
Aside from typos this one's actually about finished, to the point that I genuinely do not even know why it's still in my drafts? I think I used to have a hangup about the introspection "clashing" with the crack, but after reading it with fresh eyes I'm like, "Nah this is fine, actually." It'll probably go up within a few days. β¨
It's basically just Legend goofing off & throwing a whole rosebush at Wild, thatβs it thatβs the fic. One of my favorite alttp mechanics in action. Did yβall know he can kill a man by uprooting & tossing shrubs in the royal gardens? Now you know. Dw Wild doesnβt die obviously akjgcbf.
