oogughghue. I love these two. So much
I need to give Ava more love, she really doesn't get as much as she deserves. Did you know I pronounce her name wrong because I'm crazy? I thought Eva and Ava were two different pronunciations. So her name is prounced Ah-va instead of ay-va because I'm a goofball. I kind of like how that sounds better though, imo, but I like to think this causes her tons of problems in universe. I'm sure plenty of people can relate.
I like to think that she was always a sports girl from a young age, probably involved in soccer before she could join any ink sport teams in her teens. She kinda put herself into a soccer-mom's schedule all by herself at a young age - Ava likes to stay organized and busy and runs on a pretty solid schedule. She's capable of deviating from it, of course, but not without a little bit of stress. Her organization is both a blessing and a curse. She's good at keeping things under control, and this comes in handy when she's doing Agent stuff! But in day-to-day life she can get kind of controlling of others and cause conflicts sometimes. She's doing her best. She's got it all so together.
Oh my god I love Foli so much I wish I had more excuses to talk about her. I feel like she's always been underdeveloped in some way but I can never figure out why. I think it's because I never fleshed out her style of combat, and that's kind of important for a buff military woman.
She has a good heart, but god she is so gullible. She falls for propaganda so easily. She doesn't like surface technology very much - the internet terrifies her. She'd get bullied on tumblr. If she had to use a social media for anything she'd have a facebook that's really bare bones besides a few marketplace posts in fishing groups and the occasional post about how much she loves her family on a holiday.
Her good heart is something she has in common with Palace. It happens when you're twins. They both want the world to be a better place but approach things in such different ways. Foli is stubborn and sees good where there isn't, at least she tries to. She trusts Octavio's words because its what she knows. She thinks Inklings want to hurt her family and loved ones and she's so wrong but she doesn't know it because why would the world she's known for so long lie to her??
Palace is the other way around, she wants to rip and tear at things to make it better, she wants the new, shes angry because she's compassionate. It drives Foli insane, because she's made herself a protector but she can't keep Palace safe if she's, ya know. Falling into the Kamabo Hole.
On that note, Foli is disgusted by Kamabo. She hates it but she's terrified. She has never even seen it when it "functioned", but what it is now is hardly different from what she can tell. But she can sympathize with the denizens who don't want to leave the place they've called home. I can't say more on dat because it gets into spoiler territory for a story I eventually wanna tell.
