9. Were there any alternate versions of this fic?

Nope! Got the idea for it during R76 week back in January, realized I had less than 24 hours to write it, so I sat down and just banged on my keyboard until like 2am when I “finished” it, stared at my google doc and said “good enough” before posting it to AO3 lol. I honestly don’t edit my stuff that much; if I start editing, then nothing ever gets posted lol.

14. Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?

Not when I first wrote it, I guess? Idk, I’m always so surprised when someone tells me how much they liked it because, again, it was written and posted in less than 24 hours hahaha. I guess if there’s anything a reader could take away from this fic, it’s that PTSD/depression/insomnia manifest differently for many people, and that relying on just one person for support probably won’t be your “cure.” At the end of the fic, Jack is by no means “fixed” or anything, but I think the relationship he begins with Gabe in this fic is kind of his first step towards finding a sense of peace.

Also I guess readers can learn that it’s possible to write nearly 10k in less than 24 hours if you REALLY BELIEVE IN YOURSELF lol

This is a great idea!

People who are willing to beta read fic content should send us a message, and we’ll start compiling a list.  Beta-reader volunteers should let us know what sort of fics they want to beta for (SFW Vs. NSFW, angst, fluff, humor, etc), if they just want to edit or help with adjusting ideas and providing fuller feedback, if there are any other languages (for example, Spanish) they would be willing to help edit or correct.

Perhaps a week before, or even during the event, fic authors who want a beta reader can message us, letting us know what kind of fic they’re writing, what sort of editing/beta-reading they want someone to do, that sort of stuff.  If you are writing something longer than 10k words, the sooner you can let us know you want a beta reader volunteer, the better.

I’m not certain how many fics we’ll get, but at least one mod and a beta reader for the mod are willing to put themselves on the list to start with.

you know, I don’t think so? There’s a lot of tropes I love that I haven’t written yet, but it’s mostly because I enjoy reading them more than writing. 

Especially romantic tropes. I love marriage of convenience with tons of pining and ANGST AND LOVE AND HAVING TO SHARE A BED FOR REASONS UUUNGH but I have nothing new to write about it.
