Sunsparkle is looking at the ruined buildings at Foggintor.

Sunsparkle has been out for a hike across Dartmoor and has discovered Foggintor Quarry.

We had 2 day off without plan, and that time I saw in the facebook – sometimes how useful is it – our lovely, ex-duty manageress in Dartmoor again. Quick chat with her, quick chat with our lovely-crazy manageress and  the nostalgic weekend was on its way.

/ Két szabadnap várt ránk, és nekünk semmi fix tervünk nem volt. Ekkor, mint isteni sugallat, megláttam a facebookon – milyen hasznos is bír ez lenni -, hogy a szuperszónikus ex-helyettes főnökünk újra Dartmoorban van. Gyors chat vele, aztán gyors telefon a volt szerethetően-bolond menedzserünkkel és már sínen is volt a nosztalgikus hétvégénk.

In the last year it was our end-of-world, full-with-animals, like-a-fairytale HOME. Luckily nothing changed there. But something changed with us, now we have a car!

/ Az előző évben ez a világvégi, állatokkal teli, meseszerű hely volt az OTTHONunk. Szerencsére mit se változott! Viszont nálunk valami más lett, most van autónk!

So we could spent more than 1,5 hours in Tavistock. We were further streets where we found a path in the old train lane. It’s a quite good walk.

/ Így végre tudtunk több, mint 1,5 órát tölteni Tavistockba. Távolabbi utcákat járva találtunk egy túra útvonalat a régi vasúti sínek helyén. Elég jó kis séta volt.

and then? We had a rock’n roll kitchen party. And it was just the first day. In the second day we were a place what I could see in tha last year:

/ és aztán? Igazi rock’n roll hangulatú konyha bulit ültünk. És ez még csak az első nap volt! Másnap egy olyan helyre látogattunk, ahova tavaly én nem tudtam elmenni:

FOGGINTOR QUARRY

Foggintor was one of the three great granite quarries of Dartmoor. It’s a ‘Shadow Man’s’ home.

/ Foggintor volt egyike a 3 legnagyobb gránit kőbányának Dartmoorban. És ez az otthona a ‘Shadow Man’-nek, azaz az árnyék embernek. A legenda alapját valószínűleg egy katona képezi, aki erre a környékre járt esténként edzeni. 

Just 10 minutes walk from the highway, you can find this ruined city where our ex-collegues families lived. And behind one of these huge, granite wall, there is an wonderful lake.

/ Csak 10 perc séta a főútról és máris egy rom-városban találod magadat, ami nem mellesleg a volt kolleginánk egyik felmenőjének az otthona is volt. Az egyik hatalmas gránitfal pedig ezt a lenyűgöző tavat rejti. 

And if you want to walk more of course you can! There are lot of paths and Tors. And here you have phone signal, because this palce is quite close to the Princetown, which is famous from the prison and from the transmission tower.
