Ah, those long-ago days when you could connect your favorite 8-bit computer to TV channels 3 or 4 via an RCA cable and a switchbox, connect a cassette player to store and retrieve programs and data, and use dot-matrix printers to put your work on pin-fed paper. It was the 1970s and 1980s, and the systems of the time hold a special place in my heart. Today, the computers of the era are referred to as "retro" or "vintage," but are those terms correct? And what about new systems that replicate the feel of older models? What should those be called? Let's talk.
