What am I thinking? ThereтАЩs no such thing as honest thieves, so why the need of this article? The fact that someone is a thief or corrupt plainly obviates that he or she is dishonest. There is no honor among thieves. The very act militates everything that is to honor. How can someone loot and plunder everything from someone and yet be honorable?
Well here is how. The very basic foundation of justice was build on the fact that any judgement will bring about a social recognition to the victim that he was hard done by, whatever might be his predator. He must feel vindicated. This act of justice must act as a deterrent to the future wrong-doers and set a precedent for the society of what is wrong and what is right.
So, the least any person found guilty beyond a shred of doubt can do is, to own up to his acts.Be a man or woman, for once in his life. At least give the victims that. For all the troubles they have been put through,they deserve to feel vindicated,that their efforts have not been camouflaged in the gravy of lies.And that was how the term Honest thieves came into being,at least my version of it.
Living in the poor part of the world,I know how hard it is for families to put food in their children stomach,and yes I emphasize on the plurality.How people are forced to shed their moral and social obligation and dilute their self esteem,to be forced into doing things like selling their own children & mass suicides.Now, I am not lobbying for them,on the contrary every iota of my ideology is against them.They should know better.
As any other 21 year old,middle class family product,i donтАЩt really do anything for them.So what is my angle?If I donтАЩt do anything then what is the point of this banal writing with all the cliched words you get to pick from your Moral Science book? And what about Dishonest Thieves?
The one thing people hate more than politicians is corrupt politicians.And being an Indian I get to pick from a group that can easily outnumber the population of a small state.I donтАЩt intend to categorize them.I can easily pick the ideal ones too but that wonтАЩt suit what i want to convey.
So,that brings me to the reason why I wrote this.And my pick from this Corrupt Politicians Draft is: LALU PRASAD YADAV.
┬аLalu was convicted of embezzlement of government funds to the tune of 300 million US dollars,while he was Chief Minister of Bihar. After his conviction he was sent to jail but as the trend is for all ministers, he got bail after serving only 1 year of his 5 year jail term.Now he is again out in the open offering his┬атАШservicesтАЩ to the people of Bihar. Although he can not contest elections for 6 years,but it hardly matters,because in these 6 years they will only happen once.
Bihar, one of the most populated state in India,is also one of the poorest.Being their Chief Minister,it was his responsibility to work for these people,to fight for them,to stand with them.But what he has shown is a complete apathy for those people.What he did was something as shameful as steal the money that was supposed to be for their cattle.Yeah,you read right.Even animals are being used as minting machines.He preyed upon the people who voted for him and left them as carcass after sucking out all the good juices.
It is hard to understand that sentence for a petty theft can be as long as 3 years but a man who steals 300 million US dollars gets just the 5 year out of which he serves only 1.There are no financial implications imposed on him and no properties till date expunged.His bail period never seems to end and there are no ramifications for him.The guy is a gigantic fraud.ItтАЩs like Lance Armstrong,only he retired and this parasite still bites.
But what is even harder to believe that there is no media attention towards his release.No one wants to know what shady deal he made and with whom.He is not being boycotted by the media for his role in Fodder Scam.He can be seen giving interviews to all the big media houses who never ask him the right questions .In fact he is using media to again gain support of the innocent poor people and is slowly knitting his net.
Worse,he portrays himself as a visionary and a man who would cleanse the Indian Politics and even aims to become IndiaтАЩs Prime Minister.How can a man rotten to the core cleanse something.But maybe it hardly matters.Maybe the pond is too dirty for a bad fish to make any difference.Maybe there are no good apples to rot.Maybe Frankenstein is himself the monster.┬а
Maybe, but maybe not.What do I know?
