I love this idea anon. It’s been said both in the show and out that Raven is a complicated person, it makes sense that her reason for leaving would be more complicated than ‘she just wanted to leave’

Raven didn’t grow up in a loving home as she clearly struggles with emotion so I really wouldn’t be surprised if she had trouble connecting with Yang and I think it would have frustrated her so much.

I think she probably tried real hard to do everything she was supposed to do, but she just couldn’t. She couldn’t be a good huntress, a good sister, a good wife, she couldn’t even be a good mother, something that so many people had told her would come naturally to her. Everything got too difficult and the fact it was difficult made her feel weak. So she ran away, and went somewhere familiar where everything is much more simple, and she felt strong and in control.
