the dj was never part of what hyeju had in mind when she first made her way down to the basement. now that the roster was finished, it had become prevalent that the atmosphere down here wouldn’t be something she wanted to stick around for anymore. she was looking for her way out when she’s approached by a familiar face. she would never call alex a friend, but she’s seen him around. had some dancer friends introduce the two of them together, but all they’ve really spoken about was dancing. 

joohwan registers calling someone to pick her up. she doesn’t know who it is, only that it isn’t her sister. joohyun would kick joohwan’s ass for calling her at this hour when she’s in the middle of comeback promotions, and then kick her ass again for being this drunk. joohyun would still come, somehow convincing one of her members or her manager to drive her here to pick joohwan up, but that’s— that’s enough humiliation to last joohwan a lifetime, and she doesn’t want to experience that today. so she scrolls through her phone, calls someone at random, and cheers when the other picks up. she doesn’t remember what she says, nor what the other person says, but she ends the call with the feeling of having finished a duty, so joohwan assumes she got someone to pick her up.

the last thing jihoon really wanted to deal with right now as being told he didn’t jump high enough and that was the reason he got called out. he was already walking on eggshells around alex, he wasn’t sure he would be able to handle learning anything else from him in the future. they were still somewhat in the middle of the process as well, it was more about mapping out the moves and the positions over being perfect. at least this dance session. so he doesn’t understand what the issue was with a half jump?

jihoon was also never the type to hold back his facial expressions, especially when he had to keep his mouth shut. alex was his age, if he remembered correctly, but the fact that he was a senior and not just any senior, polaris out of everyone, made the quantum main dancer have some respect towards him. the type of respect that was becoming negative with each passing second jihoon had to breath the same air as alex.

he never thought there would be a pair of words to make his blood boil even the slightest. never. but if one thing jihoon learned while being an idol, it was that there was always a first time for everything. 

with album preparations being underway for impulse’s next release, jinki found himself in the studio quite a lot. even though he had his qualms and gripes with the idol lifestyle and the career path he had chosen for the time being, he couldn’t deny the fact that he actually really liked being in the studio, recording songs and working with the producers and songwriters. although that was probably more attributed to him enjoying the behind the scenes part of the music industry much more than being at the forefront of it all. 

his group members had long since left the studio, leaving jinki there to talk and chat with the producers who had been helping them while they were recording. it wasn’t until he checked the time and realized that it was getting late that he finally gathered his things and started to leave. he exited the room and started walking towards the front entrance, hands digging around in his pockets for his keys. “dammit,” he grunted when they slipped out of his grasp after finally finding them, crouching down to snatch them up. when he stood back up to his full height, he made eye contact with a semi familiar face. “uh.. alex, right?” he asked. “getting some recording done?”

Longevity in the industry is often rewarded with exclusivity, an advantage only for the ones who have held out the longest and for those who are deemed worthy (or the one’s with enough money and the right connections to find their way in.) Dealt in hushed whispers and shrouded in secrecy, tonights’ event is hidden away from the prying eyes of the public but beware — not everyone is a friend. The purpose of tonight’s event is a celebration of sorts — of what exactly, she’s not sure but it proves to be the least of her worries because all she has to do is to show and have a good time, which she can do just fine.

it had been about two months since her start as a host for music plaza, and jaein thinks she’s gotten a hang of it by now. though she wasn’t entirely nervous in the beginning either, there was a new kind of pressure that came from having to host a show for two hours on her own since it’s not like they had guests everyday. even on the days she did have guests, they ended up usually being seniors that she couldn’t find herself being comfortable with. 

hence why today was a nice change though she’s not sure if nice is the best way to describe alex’s presence. comfortable might be a better word choice. anyway, he provided a sort of relaxing comfort that allowed her to not have to care too much about how she presented herself. there had been comments about how she appeared more comfortable throughout the show as well. he had his moments where she could tell her was being flirtatious, but she also knows how to swerve that around into a platonic relationship for her listeners and viewers. they were currently on a commercial break between the first and second part of the show when she kicks him ever so lightly beneath the desk.

“stop making me pick up after your mess,” she says in reference to a couple of comments that he made. though the statement itself may sound snarky, the smile on her face says otherwise. alex is actually a lot less work than some of the other guests she’s had on the show.

To date, Jude was still not sure how he and Alex were friends (not that he would ever admit such a thing to anyone’s face). Really, considering the animosity and the lies their relationship began with, it was a miracle they hadn’t killed each other. At the very least, Jude should have alienated Alex by this point in time. He didn’t do well with forming bonds, usually ruining them and pretending he didn’t want to be friends with them in the first place. But, he hadn’t ruined it this time despite his prickly exterior. Instead, the two of them were talking despite the fact that the cameras were off and that Jude was overseas, promoting with Origin. 

The video chat had barely started when Jude began, not even bothering with a greeting. He was never one for small talk anyways and he might have respected Alex a little too much to pretend otherwise.

“If I get another request for aegyo, I may end up murdering someone before I get to go back to Korea,” he said. “I guess I could still write from jail. But, it would definitely put a dent in my fans.” 

Jude sighed, before changing the subject. He was a broken record at this point. Maybe when he turned thirty or something he would be able to drop the façade or at least upgrade his image into something less nauseating.

This is definitely prying into Yejun’s most personal insecurities, and I love it. His worst nightmare is to wake up and realize everything has been a lie. To find himself back at home, in his bed, probably working middle management at some company run by another Choi. His parents still don’t know what his real life is like. That would absolutely kill him.
