Question: Is The Way Home better than moat Hallmark stuff, or mote one of those things that hits jaut right?
Offering, in accordance with your ask button text: half dozen everything bagels, half dozen plain, and a Pinch of the magical leprechaun powder used to make the rainbow ones (don't believe lies about dye)
Hiii yes absolutely! I'll admit it being on the hallmark channel was a reservation I had at first too, but it's soooo good.
Picture: a time travel storyline spanning multiple seasons and generations (it's SO impressive how they keep it all organized) with lots of great mysteries, drama, comedy, and romance mixed in. If you like shows you can theorize, it's THE show on tv right now.
It's also well written, gorgeously directed, and acted (the whole cast is an absolute delight and they're all so passionate about the show they made). The way they find the PERFECT actors to play the younger versions of characters is honestly crazy.
Overall, the show is very driven by mother/daughter relationships (great female leads!!!), family, and an exploration of grief/healing through "fantasy" elements. (Hence the the time travel.) Like you'll sob but it will be WORTH IT I PROMISE.
My one (1) critique is that in s2-3, the love triangle gets a bit forced/in your face. But for a four season show (this is the last season btw), I think it's a minor hold up you can power through. If you've ever watched a cw show (but a GOOD cw show), I would compare the vibes to that.
