Could anything be cuter than a bundle of Southern Flying Squirrels…? We think NOT! This is a glamor shot of some of our tiny tykes from this fall before they went outside. Southern Flying Squirrels are actually a lot more common than you think but even people who study them professionally hardly ever get to see them up close to the degree that wildlife rehabbers do. While scientists work hard to understand these animal’s habitats and how we can save them on a widespread scale, rehabbers develop intimate husbandry of wildlife that can be useful for if a species needs to be brought into captive breeding programs to save them from extinction.
